I would have asked them to leave my yard nicely, if they refused id tell em ill shot you if u dont leave and if they still where standing there well ill shot em, called cops n ambulance tell em what happened.

You live in NY and he lives in Cali, that should be your right but I wouldn't try it in either of those places unless you like orange or stripes.

Dude am serious, if ur papers are legit you can have a gun in your house to be used only on ur property, if some one is trespassing and you warn them that you have a gun and ull use it and they still dont get off ur property u have full right to use it. This isn't the greatest advice lol. However there is a good chance that you would live rent free and get free food for a few years if you do it. I'm not sure what that cop is smoking, and I'm also not sure how the laws are in NY, but that is definitely not legal in most states. You can't shoot someone for trespassing in TN. Maybe there are some states that allow that, but not any that I know of here in the surrounding area. I'm sure that its not legal in California of all places. Nothing is legal there lol.

So in California you can only use "reasonable force" (i.e., force that is reasonable and justified under the circumstances), which means you can't shoot someone just because they are trespassing on your property. And the laws in most states in this regard are similar to California's.

California does have a "presumption of imminent danger and serious bodily harm" if a person engaged in a criminal act is inside your home (i.e., it is presumed that use of lethal force against a person engaged in a criminal act inside your home is justified unless the prosecutor can prove otherwise). In all other situations, the burden of proof is on you to show that your use of force (regardless of the type of force used) was reasonable under the circumstances.

Plenty of water here in S AR, both surface and underground. When we have a drought, that just means you can't burn your trash in the backyard because of the fire hazard.

We have been asked to voluntarily conserve during long droughts, but nothing mandatory (that I can remember). But then, we don't have too many people crammed into too little space using more resources than Mother Nature can provide.

I even do things I should not mention here, so yeah, tell your neighbors stop being tree huggers and move out of California and go f*ck themselves. Oh, put on some test pipes and tell them that bears, plants and other animals die everytime you rev your car!
