Default safe mode after stall ??

I was teaching my little sister how to drive a stick tonight and I noticed that my car went into safe mode (I think) after she stalled it the 3rd time.

The peddle wasn't very responsive with a "rev limit" around 2k rpms. The motor also had a 1300rpm idle and a bit of a sputter. It went away after shutting it off and didn't return, although she only stalled one more time.

Anything here I should be concerned about? Anyone ever had the same issue?

Mike
