370z vs Evo X
Hi,
To start off this isn't another which is better evo x vs 370z thread is more of trying to see which is for me, I read the other ones posted. And I know the pros and cons of each. I have a 370z and thinking of going with gtm stg 1 supercharger, however I started thinking of getting the evo x instead since it comes stock with a turbo which has more potential in the long run. Now where I live, FI is illegal unless it comes from factory which is why I'm leaning towards the evo. However the gtm supercharger looks close to stock so I don't think they would realize. But the fun factor of the 370z is whats keeping in debate along with how good it looks . I just wanna hear some different opinions/input from other people regarding this, been thinking about it for a while and can't really make up my mind. Also side questions, Would a ~ 500awhp evo be as fun as a 370z? And purely out of curiosity would a supercharged 370z ~450whp lose to ~500awhp evo x Thanks, |

Take a look into what's required for 500awhp in an Evo X and you might want to think twice about spending so much.
500whp has been proven to run reliably on the 370z without an engine rebuild. The 370z has a nice interior especially the Touring model with Nav. The Evo X is awesome if you're doing minor modifications, under $3K will get you 340awhp reliably. The 370z with basic bolt ons is roughly 320whp. The Evo is also a better handling car, it is a true performer. The 370z with sport package and Evo have comparable brakes and acceleration from factory. I also feel as though the 370z has a better sounding exhaust tone (with an aftermarket exhaust of course). Have you considered the 2015 Subaru STi as well? First and foremost, is have you driven either cars.
Then we can go from there. Papers and opinions are pretty much worthless. Your gut feeling should be more important than the above. |

Go drive both and determine if you'd have more fun with rwd or awd. Obviously neither of them will be 500whp, but you can get a feel for it. The Z looks better and the interior is better. The evo has a back seat and trunk, so if it's your only car that's a concern.
The major drawback of the Evo is the fact it's made by Mitsubishi.

If I'm keep the z I'm going supercharged, which will cost me roughly 4.5k$ so I was thinking about spending a approximately the same for the evo x.
And yes I own a 370z but there are no evos for test drive Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Where does the 500whp goal come from? Have you driven a 500whp car before? That's a metric fuckton of power. Are you driving it every day?
How exactly do you plan on putting a supercharger on for $4500?

I live in Dubai and I own a 370z, the question here is whether to go FI with gtm supercharger(my only option) or get an evo x which comes with turbo stock which has greater potential for upgrades. My main concern is will the modified evo x be as fun as the 370z?
I really like the sporty feel and sitting position of the 370z |

Ouch.
How are going to acquire one if there is none to be test driven? My best advice is don't plan. Save up that $4K, then decide, so when you have the car you can do upgrades right away. I wanted a drop and rims, saved up, bought the goods then I bought the Z |

I still think your budget for supercharging the Z is way low. And getting the evo to 500whp will take a lot more than $4500 as well.

The point isn't where I'm getting the supercharger for that price, I know someone here whose selling his supercharger and would cost me that price with the install and all.
No its more of a weekend car and occasional track. |

Unless that includes csc, clutch, radiator, gauges, oil cooler and tune you're still light. Especially if you want to use it for track use. There's a lot of supporting mods that need to be done to support 500whp.
How good of a driver are you? You don't have to answer out loud. Just something to think about. A 500whp Z is a handful. You will light the tires up even when you don't want to. An evo will cover up more mistakes. It will let you get away with things that would throw you off the road backwards in the Z. The Z is fun, but it requires a lot of attention and self control. VDC won't save you.

i was so close to buying an evo X until i found my z, with my location an evo would have been the smartest decision. so try to take where you'll be driving it in to your decision
