Most of you are young enough where your lives will be in different places in as little as 5 or 10 years from now. You'll have wives, kids and need to haul **** for the house. Some of you will get stuck driving minivans. Trust me, to some, it's happening. You'll need practical or you'll need enough money to afford practical and a toy. You'll also want a three car garage or storage for your toy that you are keeping forever. You don't want that valuable toy sitting in the rain or snow you know. That's expensive so you better make plenty of money and not all of you will. Sorry, that's also a fact.

Cars also age. It's one thing to own a 1-5 year old car and think it's going to be "fresh" like that forever. It's entirely another thing to actually own a 15-20 year old car.

Also, for those not going the kid-wife-practical route, In the future, some new great model will be out that you have to have and you'll look at your Z as a nice down payment and a hassle to own 2 toys, one now aging.

There may be one or two of you to actually keep it. The guy with the 280 for 20+ I might believe. The rest of you, nope.

Me? I learned that cars have no souls. I used to get attached. Now, out with the old and in with the new. Next up, New Corvette.
I agree to a point
But if you already have the house, wife, kids, dog, the 370z and other daily vehicles....
Once its paid for...... Why sell it unless you need to??

Please don't let my 1993 Toyota Corolla know what you think. She would be very disappointed. Only 104k and running like new!!
None ever said you can't keep the old and buy new. I'm hanging on to the toyota, a 1996 Saturn ls2, a 1996 outback I bought used, A 1999 Jeep cherokee, my 99 sebring just went to junk, a 2010 Malibu, and the 2011 370.
Hell, I just bought a new John deere last summer, and kept my 10 year old Yardman "Just in case".
Don't tell me I can't keep what I have forever!! Lol

My buddy just got an LS swapped FD...I will have one as a project car in a few years or a S14. I've already got a DD and have decided the 370 will become only a weekend/show car during the middle of this year. I just don't think I have ever really enjoyed a car so much that I have wanted to keep it long term. The 370 has that wow factor and is a great blend of performance and driveability.

You know what's worse than an aging car? An modded to the hilt aging car.

Maybe to someone who doesn't enjoy getting their hands dirty. Some of us enjoy having a project.

I fully agree, my Z has been a big let down to me. I expected (reliability) more than what this car has provided to me. Just getting 50,000 miles out of this car has been quite an event....this is my first and last Nissan product. Well at least, I can say I gave this brand a try.

I'm heavily considering getting rid of mine, even though I said I never would. I had to buy a Titan for work and now I've got two car payments, which is fine because I make more than enough money. However, I find myself using the Titan even for stuff outside of work and the Z just collects dust and it would be nice to find just a nicer truck and trade both vehicles.

However, I still want to keep the Z until its paid off in 3 years and trade it in on a 2012+ GTR. My Titan's only comfort features are power windows, its stripped, not even traction control, and the drivers window stopped working and the airbag light began to flash two months ago for no reason. Perhaps when the brand new diesel Titan comes out I'll trade in both of my vehicles for a fully loaded diesel Titan and forget about my dreams of owning a GTR.

I had a 2004 Titan and put 100k on that and the only thing I replaced was the radiator.

We still have a 2004 Pathfinder and besides maintenance I've only replaced the ground cable to the battery because it wouldn't start, faulty for some reason.

My 2009 370Z was great for the 6 months I had it.

My 2010 370Z has never ever had a single issue. I've got 53k on it.

My 2008 Titan is mechanically great, but the drivers power window stopped working and airbag light it flashing, but I'm pretty sure its the passenger sensor that went bad because when I ride by myself the light below the radio doesn't light up anymore saying "Passenger Airbag OFF".

I've had good luck with Nissan and I actually totaled my 2009 370Z and walked away without a scratch, literally, so I love them.
