Minor thing...gas cap tether
Gas cap tether - anyone remove it?
I've found that if you use the little built in loop for it and hang it off the fuel door, it still hits the fender - eventually that spot will become an eyesore (black car...) - so, anyone removed it? Minor gripe, just wondering if I'm being overboard about it...like everything else ;) |
The other day after washing the car the gas door lid didn't want to open.Kept tapping it lightly with my finger so to not damage. After about ten minutes of playing it finally opened. Was in the panic mode for a couple of mintes.
I can see some greasy oversized mechanic at the dealers crawling thru my car to fix. What a nightmare that would be. Must say this Z is full of suprises! |

I find it useful not perfect but what is.

If you remove the tether where will you put the gas cap? In the roof? On the pump? Hold it in you hand the whole time? Before you know it you'll be missing a gas cap...
|
Put it in your pants.

Back Pocket so you can Sit on It.

Just take the whole removing the gas cap thing out of the equation and put THIS on. You never have to remove the cap and worry about it hitting the paint, or loosing it.

I cut that tether off the first day I owned the car. We can't pump our own gas here, and I didn't want the gas pumping moron hanging it against the side of the car like they always do.

As for "where" to put the gas cap - set it on top of the gas pump, that's what I've always done with non-tethered caps... |

If you hang it off the gas door its far enough away to not touch the paint...
