I checked back with my buddies who were having a similar discussion a while back, and the standard oil filter fits fine. You may just need a different filter wrench.

I encountered the same issue on my 2012. Just install on top of the existing cooler. The tolerances will be tighter and the lines will run slightly different from the Z1 instructions, but it all works fine with the stock size oil filter. No need to mess with the existing cooler. My 34 row has been running flawlessly ever since.

which is, by far, the most cumbersome way to take off a filter. if thats your only issue, why dont u just start using one of these to take it of? or seems like a pretty simple fix to a pretty simple problem
