Steering lock question
 

OK tried a quick search, maybe i don't have my wording right, but is there a difference in the sport vs non sport steering lock unit? Looks like the site I'm ordering from shows one being $100 more than the other, but I can't view the part number to see if there is a difference.

No, why are you ordering one? Dealer will replace it for free and you can pull the fuse out.

For the 370Z, it's the same part for all years that they were used and all variations (Touring, Sport, &c).

Can't pull the fuse it's already dead. Infiniti will not warranty it out like Nissan unfortunately. Already got a case going with consumer affairs, but not looking bright right now.

Trying to get a bigger case going for the Infiniti crowd if anyone knows any Infiniti owners who have had the problem please point them here. Seems to be less common or at least not talked about much.

TSB Electronic Steering Column Lock (ESCL) - MyG37

Have you tried smacking it with a mallet and see if it will unlock, several Z owners have been able to get it release this way, then pull the fuse.

Mine is odd, it is unlocked. Cycles through the ignition, fuel pump primes, then it just doesn't start. Took it to the dealer and they are saying it's the lock system.
