Help Please..

Hello..I have that Electronic Steering Lock issue. Its at the dealership now. 850 to fix. The part is on back order, well for this specific dealership. I called another dealership and they have 3 but they are only selling them to customers because they are so hard to come by. I am most likely going to just buy the part .Are there any threads that show me how to replace it and whats needed? I was told its not that hard but was just wondering.

IIRC, it should be free since Nissan issued a recall on the part.

Selling? Oh hell, no; that is downright dirty practice. You smack 'em in the face with this service campaign code: P3208 Campaign Announcement Campaign Bulletin NTB13-014.

yah, check the diy section. i did a diy 2yrs ago.

but as other have noted, there is a recall for this and you shouldnt have to pay a dime. also noted on my diy.

after you get the fix, make sure you read up on the brown wire cut/fuse pull.

btw, my diy also suggested to use pliers... :ugh:

Im currently going back and forth with Nissan now..i actually have an 2010 Maxima(i know wrong forum, but theres no good Maxima forums like this Z forum)...They are not extending the warranty as of yet. I dont think they are going to budge and i need my car, so im going to just take care of it myself...thanks for the info

er.....okay, you neglected that little detail :p

good luck, but you might be SOL since the recall didn't extend to other model years IIRC
