I bet you can get there with swapped gears, some bolt on's, tune and grippy rubber. Kind of a noob question though to be honest.

Maybe with drag tires but getting traction in 1st and 2nd is next to impossible when you up the power on street tires. With the supercharger I can leave the VDC on and it pulls power or turn it off and spin the tires but can't find a fast way in first.

My Z can't do it, but the ol' Storm Trooper SRT can run a 4.3 all day long.

Rear wheel drive is not an obstacle - fwd is. The fastest cars at the drag strip are rear wheel drive. There is no reason why the Z can't get better 0-60 times if power, gearing and traction is improved.

Im sure i faster than that
i do 1.80 60 ft's and the 1/8 in 7.97 seconds @ 90.3 mph. with the help of a lot of bolt ons. does any body have the formula to calculate 0 to 60 with 1/8 mile times. Z

Get some grippy tires and then add some mods.
Wonder if cbe, headers, intake, and tune would be enough? Rear wheel drive cars get low 0-60 times... You just might be at a disadvantage for doing much quicker than low 4s because of gearing. A vette has a good 0-60 time because first gear gets you to 60 and it has plenty of power for that kind of gearing. |

It's not a power issue. It's a rear camber issue. When the car squats the rear tires camber in too much and you spin. Correct the camber for the launch and you're running the wrong amount for driving.

I put my 1/8 mile times and speed into the drag racing calculator and it gave me a time of 3.5 seconds. There is an error factor as well 2 or 3 tenths of a second . i would say an honest 3.8 to 3.9. The reason I fell it goes so quick is the 4.08 gears. Can not wait for the stroker engine and the Stage 3 SC.. I will be changing the Diff to 3.57's from a 2003 350 z.
My car is very quick . for traction i run the tires at 17 psig. and ive taken about 240 lb's out of the car as well. Z

Where specifically did you cut the weight from?
