Do Z owners think they're cool?
After having my 3rd encounter with âsshole Z owners I'm starting to think that a handful of Z owners think that they are better than everyone else on the road. EVEN WHEM I'M IN THE SAME CAR! Is it cause my car isn't 100% stock like yours? (sarcasm) I try to give all car enthusiasts some recognition wether it be a head nod, thumbs up, wave, whatever... But I have had a couple encounters with other Z owners that when I wave or try to give them some props on their car they either stare at me like I'm bothering them, or completely blow me off. It sucks to be in the car scene when others make fellow Z owners look like douche bags [Middle Finger]
That's weak sauce

I'm on a couple of car fora and have been an enthusiast of a number of models (Mustang, 4Runner, JK, Xterra, Tundra). Z owners have been the most affable and helpful and are usually easily approachable. I haven't experienced what you have; really a bit of the opposite. I'm not sure if your experience is an anomaly or mine.
Jeep guys have the well known "jeep wave", but it is still a pretty nutty crowd (and it's often not the good kind of nutty). I sort of think of many of my jeep buddies as what would result if Wayne La Pierre humped a really talented mechanic in the butt. |

Well, to be honest Z's are kind of douchey.
But who cares? Drive what you want, enjoy what you drive, and piss on what other people think.

But from the other point of view (just being a devils advocate) - just because you drive the same car that I do, does that automatically make you my best buddy? Do I have to wave at every person that drives a similar car to mine?
Not saying I feel that way. Just presenting the other side of the argument. |

I miss the Z scene! I went to ZCON 2010 and the people I met there were awesome. The whole experience is what cemented my love of the Z heritage. I currently drive a 2014 Mustang and as much as I enjoy the car, I find the community to be lacking the camaraderie of the Z community. Looking forward to the next gen Z and hopefully my ticket back. Denver's local Z chapter is pretty cool as well.

I know a few Z owners personally that are some of the coolest/humble people. I know that not everyone is a douchey owner. I think that I'm pretty approachable and would be able to strike up a conversation with other enthusiasts around me, but I guess some hold to themselves. I wish I got some pics of the faces these people make though, if facial expressions could be translated it's almost like "Why are you talking to me?" and then "Want to see how fast I can go?" but oh well Nismo89 is right, to each their own.
Not saying you gotta be friends with everyone but it's just weird that this has happened on more than a couple occasions
