I like to do some spirited driving on the weekends and feel like I finally have an awesome car to do that. I think some of these tasteful mods everyone had mentioned sound great. I want the sound and a few extra hp. So after hearing everyone's input it will probably do the Hks hi power or legamax. I really wanted akrapovich but wow they are expensive! Motordyne art test pipes A cold air intake that I don't have to remove bumper I have also been looking at new tires. Car has 12k miles on it. Has the Bridgestone re050 I think. I am guessing they have at least 50% tread left. But don't really like the feel. Looking at the Michelin pss or Bridgestone s04. Anything else you Guys recommend tuning wise or cosmetic? Great forum, appreciate the feedback and help. Last edited by 370ZYZFR1; 01-25-2014 at 07:41 AM. |

HKS Hi-Power Cat Back Exhaust. it looks amazing, sounds deep and quiet until you hit about 4-5000 rpm and then its just a loud purr. the guys at work tried telling me it wasn't loud enough with it running while parked. but if i wanted that, i would've gotten a cheap $800 exhaust and if i did that i might as well put honda emblems on it and neon lights

I personally like carbon fiber mufflers.
HKS is alright. A little over priced for what you're getting. I think the HKS sounds like a 4 banger Honda & way too raspy. If that's what u want out of a V6... To each their own. But does look really good

To the OP, check out Tanabe for your exhaust!

So I watched the YouTube of the installation of the fast intentions exhaust and listened to clips. Wow that exhaust sounds nice.
Also, what ideas for cosmetic upgrades? I like to do little subtle things that may stand out a bit but not over powering. |

There's so many options..... Nice lite lip kit is always a complement to the body lines of the 370z

I would've recommended Fast Intention if OP didn't require the exhaust system not being too loud. The fast intentions sounds very nice and deep. But it's loud(subjective) and has drone at lower RPMs. OP, my advise to you is to go to the car meet or car shows and hear it for yourself. Youtube videos only give you a rough idea how the exhaust system sound like but it's FAR from what you would hear it in person and it doesn't tell you how loud the exhaust is.

As for the cosmetic upgrades, a lip kit, side skirts will do. Also window tint, black out headlights and taillights might come out nice too depends on your personal preference. But the best cosmetic mod is to put on the "the370z.com" decals on your car.

Yes. I had non resonated. My buddy has 18 inch resonators. Both have drone at certain RPM. But we both got used to it shortly haha... Now he wants to be louder and non-resonators. Lol. I hope you were close to us so we could show you what they sound like in person...

And I can't tell you how loud the exhaust is because some people think it's loud while others don't. But I can give a comparison with the stock exhaust. If say stock exhaust(non nismo) is at 5/10 then the fast intentions is at 8/10 and the HKS is at 6/10.
And the Fast Intentions is one of the deepest exhaust on 370z.

I've owned both, both are great tires. The pss tend to get the nod around here but I honestly feel like they both perform about the same. To me the s-04s win out because they're usually less expensive. My experience is based purely on spirited driving on public roads and I dd my car for some perspective. My recommendation is not based on track performance.
