Any 6'1" guys hoping they fit in the 370Z?

Hi

I am wondering if I can actually fit in the new 370Z. Anybody else?
At 6'1" and 230 lbs. it doesn't look good...better have a salad next time.

Also still no sunroof or T-top or Targa roof? Come on a targa would be sweet!

The new 370Z looks like a winner to me but I fear I shall need a crew to crisco me in and out of the cockpit.

Can't wait to try...see you at the dealership!

Regards,

J

Howdy. I'm 6.3 201 and I'm planing on getting one. I could fit really good in the 350z I dont think a t-top would work with the way the roof is shapped. it would be really nice tho.

I am 6'2" 215lbs and I fit in the 370 just fine, there is plenty of room, so you should be fine. Should be a non issue for you, or anyone under 6'4" for that matter.

Supergoji 12-21-2008 12:37 AM

im 6'4, 225lbs and i fit fine.

push the seat all the way back and recline!

AK370Z 12-21-2008 12:39 AM

I would love to contribute to this thread but I'm only 5'7" 164 lbs :ugh: :icon17:

shumby 12-21-2008 12:41 AM

some guys in the G have removedand lowered the seat rails. But I am 6'1" 200lbs and gots no issues but i expect the Z to be a bit smaller.

Slidefox 12-21-2008 12:47 AM

5'11" about 220... I didn't order the salad!!

TheManTheMyth 12-21-2008 02:05 AM

6'3" 200 and banking that i fit in the 370 the same as i fit in the g37...like a glove!

nonsensez9 12-21-2008 03:38 AM

at 6'2" I just barely fit in the G37 Coupe with sunroof. The Z has about a half inch more headroom so it should be fine.

RCZ 12-21-2008 04:05 AM

5'10" 170" perfect fit :)

SnakeBitten 12-21-2008 05:59 AM

Im 6'6" @ 250lbs and I fit. Shut up....yes I do:mad: That bump on my head is just from me making sure the roof was still there as I was getting out of the car. :ughdance:

3SeventyZ 12-21-2008 07:17 AM

<-- Is 6'2" and isn't worried about fitting.

SMJane_Again 12-21-2008 10:30 AM

Nothing personal, but what is your inseam length?

I'm also 6'4", but my inseam is only 34". I do fit fine in the 350, but have not been able to sit in the 370 yet. Man I hope I fit.

Namir 12-21-2008 12:15 PM

6'2'' but I like sitting close to the wheel.
I've never been a fan of the super recline straight arm gangster lean haha. So I'm hoping it won't be an issue. I fit fine in the G and 350Z so hopefully this one isn't much different.

Good thread. I'm 5'10" & was worried whether I'd fit when I wear my 3" platform shoes.

shumby 12-21-2008 04:19 PM

^^^^ pic of you in said shoes lol

18rgcelica73 12-21-2008 05:10 PM

I am a weight lifter so I hope that my width fits, 5'9.5" according the doctor @ 223lbs. Like I said not tall but I am wide in the shoulders.

18rgcelica73 12-21-2008 05:13 PM

I to need to see that picture of cow in 3" platforms.:roflpuke2:

The thing I realized after posting is that the platforms wouldn't affect my seated height inside the car.

I pwnt myself.

I'm 5'7" @ 150 Lbs and I don't fit in some cars! I spend a lot of time working out which has mad my back a bit wider than average guy's (even big guys) so some seats don't fit me so well... My Solstice used to fit me fine and I was VERY comfy in it, but now the seats seem too narrow. However, I'm still VERY comfortable in my 300zx, so hopefully I'll fit fine in the 370.

Mr. BigHam 12-25-2008 06:22 PM

6'3 and a whopping 150lbs and hey I have drivin a few 350s and s2ks so I don't think it will be much of a problem.

FricFrac 12-25-2008 10:30 PM

From my research there will be no height issues in the Monteray Blue. It looks soooo good that regardless of your height you'll squeeze in..... I hear they are even giving a $5K cash back on the white, silver and black 370Zs just to get ppl to buy them....

LOL! And charging an Extra 5K for the honor of being the only one to every buy a Monteray blue Z. :D

That's fine, mine will be white!

18rgcelica73 12-27-2008 03:23 PM

It's because they know that Monterey blue is the real head turner:tup:

shumby 12-27-2008 03:26 PM

^^^^ ya people look away in disgust

Crash 12-27-2008 03:31 PM

^^^ Ouch! Burn!

shumby 12-27-2008 03:37 PM

Black 1

White 0

Crash 12-27-2008 04:26 PM

^^^ Shouldn't that be "blue 0"?

Lets face it.. White is right. More people want white for a reason... :)

And that reason is because black comes with an ugly tax.

I've read that for a proper driving position you need to be able to rest your wrists on the top of the steering wheel comfortably.

There is no way that guy can do that in the position he is in.

Either he'd have to move the seat forward, cramping his legroom, or put the seat up vertically into an uncomfortable position.

I went to a dealer here and sat in one and the reach to the wheel was huge. I wish there was a telescoping wheel on the car. I just couldn't get into a comfortable position. I'm used to this in FWD cars because they tend to be more upright and with less legroom. I figured being a low slung 2 seater that I'd be all set

Here are my thoughts I posted on a different forum (www.carspin.net):

Quote:

I got to sit in a 370 tonight and holy mother of god, I want one. I looooooooove the sightlines out of the front, and how the base of the windshield is not far from the driver (it's got a short dashboard).

The only things I didn't care for were the lack of seat travel (I could get more legroom in the MINI) and lack of telescoping steering wheel. When I had the seat adjusted for my legs, I'd have to sit at what seemed 90 degrees upright to have my arms at the proper distance. I figured this would be a non issue in a low slung sports car, but it's just about as bad as FWD cars.

Also, sitting in it and looking back at the cargo hold was a reality check. In all of the pictures of the cargo hold, the depth looks pretty substantial. When I saw the height of the glass from the bottom of the trunk though, it left a lot to be desired. I have a piece of luggage I usually travel with and it wouldn't be able to fit between the two. Seems to be about the same usable room in the 370 as in the S2000. (with the S2000 having an easier to pack rectangle space).

I really want it, but then I think, if I'm going to make concessions on cargo space and buy some new soft luggage, why not just get a convertible to use it in

Another note, the car I saw (check my thread in GT for pictures) had the standard 18" wheels that I liked a lot more than the optional 19s all the reviews have had. The tire/wheel ratio from the side looks a lot better and is more racy then the ricey 19s.

Interior materials were top notch, I felt as if I could be in an Audi or BMW with the leather paddings, cloth coverings, and soft touch materials.
