I agree with frost here...and I also own a '66 mustang and a '55 chevy truck...so I'm in no way an american basher...

Right. I mean, it's not that I would turn it down or anything, and I would/have had fun driving them; but to say a big honkin v10 in a stripped car is some impressive feat of engineering just doesn't cut it for me. Would you call an ls2 attached to a gocart great engineering? No. But would it be fun to drive, fuckin-a-right.

I think I'd look at both.
How did this become a domestic/import bash? It seems like only two people got that impression, and Frost wasn't one of them. They are both nice cars, but like it was said before, the Z is new and attainable so it generates interest. Just about everybody has seen the drumstick cooker at some point in its 17 year reign. Besides this isn't a side by side comparison of two totally different cars, its about the interest they generate. The PT Cruiser got a lot of looks, so did the Prowler, and so will the Volt. When the Volt comes out you might see people checking it out instead of a Z. New design=interest. |

I can support the poor engineering claim on the vipers. Lets talk cam timing 370z rotates the cam using oil pressure inside the gear. 08 and up Vipers opt instead to use a HOLLOW Cam with seperate intake lobes mounted to another shaft running down the center of the first one (super hollow there is like no wall thickness to these things). I know a guy who has gone through 3 SETS of cams for his 08 viper with stock redline. He tracks the car maybe twice a month for four months until winter hits. He's had it and ended up making the dealership swap in a solid camshaft.
Oh and even the '09 has an engine that is 127% larger than ours but produces only 80.7% more power and 107% more torque Oh and it weighs 200lbs more Oh and I've tracked with a couple mostly stock vipers and sure they had their way with me on the straights but i never saw anything special in the corners so i could keep up in really twisty spots (bad part of that is i recieved one stone chip in my windshiel from his fooken 11.5 in tires with no real bumper behind them and my front end is chipped all to hell to the point where i'm going to want to get a new one eventually. Oh and on a personal note I was almost carjacked once by three guys when i pulled into a gas station to take a nap on a long drive. I think i drove over one guys foot. exactly...you will get more head turns to look at your car cuz its new...it looks abit different then the 350z but all the vipers pretty much look the same. I seen 3 vipers last night on won street...not many heads turning to look at that car but then i drove down the street in my 370z and alot of people looking at it.

I've had the 370 for a little over a week now and this has happened to me 3 times while driving: I will pass a car. The car that I pass races back up to me and paces me for a minute or so, and then falls back. I guess they just want to get a better look. LOL. It is a great looking car.
