370Z: A Future Classic?
|
Yes
|
I think so
|
I sure hope so.
|
I think so, at least the Nismo. I also like the fact that Rubicons are included.
|
I think the Z is a borderline case. We'll have to see where the next Z goes. For classics, you have to have demand as well; people who want to buy it either for what it stands for, for the rarity of it, the quality, or the performance. Is the Z high in all of those categories? Yup, but is it high enough to get on the radar of people who care about classics? There's the question... Thankfully the car is low production and has great balance and very good performance. It has the makings!
|
I'll let you know in 30 years. Stay tuned.
|
 Absolutely... on the Nismo...especially with the limited numbers. I watched Chasing Classic Cars
|
The 2014 nismo, maybe they will make the two tone next year too
|
That is the ugliest Camaro I have ever seen.

Z yes, others questionable.

It depends on the next Z design iteration I think. If they keep making it better and the next car improves on the 370 the way the 370 did on the 350, then the 370 will just be a speed bump in the big picture. If on the other hand they go in a totally different direction in the name of cost, fuel efficiency, and/or being hybrid, and this ends up being the last really performancy Z for a long time, then it will be classic.

I'm mad that any car after I think 85 will not qualify for classic plates in the future...I think I'll want some of the cars I drove in high school along with my z when I'm 50 or so...just don't understand why can't we have classics plates in our generation..even though it's years away....but yeah the z will be a classic
|
Weird list, but I like the variety. I don't quite get the Fiesta, but I guess if it is limited in production then it could be a classic someday.

Remember, this list isn't about best - it's about something that leaves a mark and is desirable due to some character. |
I don't think so because they've made so many over the years. I know it's not a lot compared to the 350Z or a Corolla, Camry etc. but in relation to let's say a
MKIV Supra (~11k from 93-98. Includes Base and TT variants) 3000GT VR-4 (~15k from 91-99) FD RX-7 (~14k from 93-95) I think there's around 40k total 370Z's out there somewhere so far? So we have a long way to go til we reach classic (cult) status. EDIT - Just saw the article singles out the Nismo...so in that case, then disregard all above ^^^^. Nismo yes, will probably be classic. |

FD RX-7s will sell for a good 9k at most and the 3000GT VR4 is a good $5000 car the 3000GT VR4 never became a cult classic like the GSX Eclipse did |
my uncle has the new COPO. it rattles the neighbor's walls when he starts it up at home lol

It's OK. I agree with the GSX. Man....I wanted that to be my first car so bad, but couldn't justify the price tag. People were still asking $10-14k for one back in 2008 when I was car shopping back then. Maybe I'll get lucky and find one for cheap now. |
once Nissan stops making the VQ6 or the Z altogether, which rumours have it they are bringing the Datsun back and cutting the Z line. Then 100% classic over night. If not....A classic to the owners:tup:

I think the 350Z is more likely to be a future classic than the 370Z Nismo.
Don't get me wrong, I love my Z but the 350 has so much more impact (IMO) on the sports car community since its launch 12+ years ago. It was radically different than the Z32 in terms of styling and performance. |
I can't wait to see less 350z's on the road. It may have "meant" more to the Z revival, but the 370z is better in every way. On a personal level, I actively dislike the 350z look....at least not including the Nismo, which is ok. Other than youngins looking to upgrade over their Honda Civics, I don't know many people who like the 350z.
Maybe I just don't know many people. :) |

I would buy a 350Z over any other under $12,000 used tuner/import and im that big of a fan either Its a crazy car to build up if u buy a used one today. The youngster have it made with that car __________________ |
With as much as I have into mine, I plan on keeping it for the long haul!

When researching my '12 Roadster production numbers - they only produced 46 exactly like mine out of 1049 total for coupes and roadsters for the 2012 model year.
That makes it a classic in my book. |
if u have to make it a "rare" car like mustang guys do, then its not rare.

The 240Z along side the 280z has already made a great for the Z family in todays "classic car" market.
The 350z may miss the mark but I truly see the 370z with its powerful exterior design along its great V6 power that competes along side of those big V8 muscle houses, and can hold its own. I believe The 370z will be desired for decades to follow as its predecessor has already accomplished, the 240Z http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1389399927 |
People don't generally know what will and won't be a classic for a long time. These things can be impacted by scarcity, pop culture, racing legacies... You can't really say what will and what won't.
Regardless, the 370 is a great enthusiast vehicle. |
If there is a toy or model of the car, it is a classic
