The "Diamond Kote" polymer is no different than the Zaino Brothers polymer I mentioned previously. Cost? <$75 for a complete kit that will last you several years if used appropriately. Not the best ones... the only rust preventers that work are the sacrificial anodes (zinc is one option). Want to know what another sacrificial anode material is? Aluminum! If you have anything on your car that's aluminum, make sure it doesn't have an anodized coating between it and the car body and you have an automatic sacrificial rod.

I recommend everyone to get polymer sealant on a regular basis, and I also recommend a clear bra. These are the first things I do when I get a new good looking car. Mine were all done profesionally and they work great. I don't have to worry about raining, the sealant does not allow the rain to create spots. In fact rain rinses my car and does not create spots. Clear bra has saved my bumpers too many times to count.

Nothing is ever "Needed"...and the products do work...but if you're like most of us, you won't have the car long enough to notice the difference!

That is a total BS. I have tons of colleagues and friends in Puerto Rico, which is kind of the same weather, ecological, flora and fauna environment and nothing to be worried about. Just give love and care to your baby and that's totally it.
AND!!!! I think that everybody in this world will deal with bird poopilipoop. Dont let the stealers rip your $$$ Just take care of your car as you normally would do. Puerto Rico environment is kind of the same as Hawaii, tropical weather. and if you complain about residues of volcanic dust, Puerto Rico is receiving sporadic volcanic dust from the Montserrat Island, and large quantities of dust coming from Sahara Desert. Documented Satellite Maps of Sahara Dust hitting the Caribbean, and so Puerto Rico. Documented volcanic dust hitting Puerto Rico from Montserrat Island. IN THIS CASE, on the picture shown below........... Good Luck... |

LOL - funny because this is all marketing....
First off spend $20 instead and get Meguire's NXT or Turtle Wax ICE synthetic wax. Zaino is great but IMHO it's not good value for your money - it washes off too. Unless you are detailing bi weekly and if your car isn't a garage queen use a synthetic wax. It last longer and gives excellent protection. Teflon coating is all but a gimic. It will wash off just as quickly as any other wax. It doesn't penetrate your clear coat - it sticks to the surface and you know how sticky teflon is.... all for $400 - rip off. Secondly rusting is a chemical reaction which does include the transfer of electrons. The zinc strips are often used on ships to prevent corosion of other metal parts on the ship as the zinc has a higher electrical potential and will corrode instead of the ship. Its know as a sacrificial anode. Works on ships but I haven't heard of anyone doing it on a vehicle. Not sure if the battery one is going to do the trick....

They basically wax the car - but no claybar, no actual fine-abrasive polishing step - they just slap on some polymer wax-polish that makes it impossible to get your car touched up without stripping the paint off first because it bonds to the paint. I'd rather pay a detailer to claybar, polish, and apply polymer wax and make the car look like a black, car-shaped mirror, then maintain it myself, and still come out ahead. |

I got the warranty simply because I'm paying for the car for 6 years, and I don't want to be stuck paying for a car with a thrown rod...should something like that happen. Last edited by kannibul; 08-28-2009 at 01:15 PM. |
