Dealer Over Inflated Tires

I checked my tire pressures today on my month old 370 they were all 4 were set to 47 psi I did notice the ride was pretty harsh over bumps and highway joints lol.

I set them to 35psi and it feels a hell of a lot better.

I'm pretty sure they come from the mfg over inflated so they don't develop flat spots while shipping and sitting on dealers lots. A good dealer will know to check them before they give you the keys.

Dealer delivered the car to me with the right driver rear tire at something probably close to 80-100 psi. On the phone before picking it up they mentioned something about damage to the tire, so they were going to put a new one on for me. Obviously they forgot to deflate the tire after beading it because the tire bubbled within 15 minutes of driving off the lot. I'll post a picture up when I get home.

I always tell them "don't check the tires, don't wash it, and don't vacuum either" they are stupid, they screw up with tire pressure, they scratch the interior and exterior with their vacuum and half fast wash.

My other car is an BMW M and what a difference with service, in fact I wait for it to be filthy to take it in for service

Here is a picture of the rear tire my dealer delivered on the car. This was about 20 min after driving it off the lot brand new and 10 min into having some fun and getting the tires warm

Don't think I wasn't

I drove back to the dealer on the spare, and the manager asked if I had called the tire manufacturer. He saw my reaction and quickly assured me they would be taking care of the matter. I took their courtesy Z to go back and pick up the bad tire since I wasn't willing to put it in the back of my brand new car. I got a couple of free oil changes out of them but haven't been back since.

Sheesh, I'm honestly surprised my Z had 36 psi all around leaving the same dealership. That's terrible.

They set the tire pressure high due to strapping them down in shipping. They don't want to bottom them out when they crank down on the tie downs. Nissan puts yellow stickies on the tires so the PDI guys will be remember to set the tires to the door placard. Guess some folks don't have a clue.

They probably forgot to deflate the tires after the cars were delivered from the port. But yes, still pretty stupid.

For me, they received the car from a dealer in Oklahoma, but there was a problem with one of the wheels. They replaced the wheel and tire just before delivery. I suspect the reason for my tire issue was they didn't deflate the tire after beading it. My PSI was closer to 80-100, which is what you would expect beading a new tire and way higher than they would use for shipping. Even a 60 PSI tire wouldn't have bubbled as quickly as mine did.

That being said, plenty of dealers forget to deflate tires after shipping or remove the Nismo spring spacers. It's the nature of the stealership
