Shipping a car

About to purchase a 40th two states away. Has anyone bought from a private seller and shipped the car without ever physically seeing the car? What company did you use? Was it worth it? Do you have any words of advice?

Few times. ISF (covered by eBay) and a lease take over 3 series. I just googled car shipping. They are ALLLLL the same. They are all brokers for drivers. (Oh and I'll reply to your PM now)

Thanks much DE. I look into isf. I googled too and there are so many! How long did it take for you to receive your car and how far away was it from you?

5 days? It was in Oregon and it got delivered to Houston. It was the off season and cost $500, maybe 550 to ship.

The ISF is a magnificent car. Never had any problems (besides damn expensive brake jobs). Beat that bitch all the time. It's at like 40-45k miles, bought it at 5k and it's a 2008.
If you do go to the fall side. The suspension is stiff. I mean there is no suspension, you can count change and ants on the road, but it's still somehow comfortable. Like my head his the ceiling a few times, but the seats make it comfortable still. 500 miles non stop journeys didn't phase my back. But I had a concussion, lol (my head clearance is MAYBE .5", more when I open the cover of the sun roof)

I completely misread your comment. I was thinking isf was the shipping company through eBay. Lmao 5 days isn't bad, that's a long trip. The lowest quote I got was 650 NM/Texas to Las Vegas.

Why not fly out and see the car so you don't get screwed? Then drive it back?

I would never buy a used car private party sight unseen.

The car is in a random area of NM, so the flight is $300 + gas and wear and tear and such.

Maybe have them list it on eBay and then you'll have eBay's buyer protection? Not sure how well it works though
