Time to choose, 370Z or..........

A 1984 Testarossa. Why not, everyone else has some kind of thread comparing the Z to everything from a bugatti to a frickin' wheelbarrow.

fzgood 12-31-2013 05:40 PM

I think I would be happy to have the experience behind the wheel of the Testarossa. Not so sure I would want the experience of owning one though.

Is a thorough test drive an option?

You be like miami vice, except in PA. :icon17:

Oil change for a Z at the dealer: $50

Oil change for a Testarossa at the dealer: $12,000

Good luck. :)

RonRizz 12-31-2013 05:59 PM

Change your own oil......$13 for 5 quarts at walmart lol Might be tough to find the filter there, though.

For maintenance costs.

Not that bad IMO.
If you are the type to only put about 3-5K miles a year on the car then why not. If you only drive your Z that much then you already know it is an impractical car to have. You bought it for fun, you bought it for the enjoyment of driving a sports car.

Alas, I cannot be that impractical as my Z is my DD.
But if I could be that impractical right now I would.

I'd go with the wheelbarrow. That way you can be equal opportunity and pick up fat chicks.

A 30 year old car or a newish one. Unless the name is everything to you, get the Z.

Ubetit 01-01-2014 09:43 AM

I can't decide between the 370Z

the 370z... the Testarossa will cost too much at the end. Then only being driven like 4-6times a month. Not worth it for me.

More bounce per ounce.

1. the Testarossa looks insanely dated
2. 10 mpg
3. cost of maintaining a 30 year old car (Ferrari or not)
4. a slower 0-60 time than the z

Is this a real comparison?

m4a1mustang 01-01-2014 02:20 PM

Hey guys, I need help choosing between the 370Z or the 370Z.

Dude, the 370Z sucks. Get the 370Z.

Yeah man, the 370Z handles way better than the 370Z. Looks better, too.

Dude, 370Zs are a dime a dozen. Get the 370Z instead, it's more exclusive.

OP is a troll. No one compares the 370Z to the 370Z. They aren't even in the same class.

The 370Z has better doors than the 370Z.

If you're gonna compare a 370 to a 370, you may as well compare a 370 to a wheelbarrow!

Ferrari makes cars to be looked at, not driven.
If they wanted to make a car that could last 100,000 with no issues or expensive maintenance, they could.
They don't want common people being seen in them every day though.

Original post was a little tongue in cheek reply to the various comparison posts...... Ex...( I would take a ford fiesta because new its 10k, and I can do 25k in mods and smoke the 370)
You get the point....lol

Who you calling Common?

my2004Z 01-02-2014 12:06 PM

Get the Testarossa! 370Z's are too common around here. That's all these guys talk about on this site and it's getting old...

So are we talking '09-'12 models vs '13+ models? :stirthepot:
