Anyone has escort MAX radar detector ?
 

If you use one, please share how it performs? I'm not really interested in how others are better from those who do not use the Escort MAX. Friend gets discount from store so I get to pay under $400 for a brand new one.

I still use a 9500ix, but I have heard from two different and reliable friends who say the MAX is very good, but its alerts are not very loud and hard to hear over the stereo.

It is the only radar detector I have ever used, but I am happy with it. I like that it tells me when I am over the 70 Mph, the red light camera features are great. I have the volume up loud and can usually hear it over the stereo. The downside to this is that it has a loud beep when the car starts and everything else is quiet. The laser detector makes the thing go obnoxious which is great!

I think the 9500ix has similar features, but I like the screen of the max and I plan on having the detector for a long time so the small difference in price wasn't a factor.

I'll say it has been VERY handy to have a detector....

Brand new for $400? I would say buy it!

I hardly turn on the stereo. But when the MAX alerts went off, I jumped!

The MAX just saved me from a laser on Toll Road last night so it's definitely a keeper :tup:

I have the 9500IX which is a great detector. Since I'm already committed, the MAX wasn't worth upgrading. If I didn't have a detector yet, I'd get the MAX.

I was really on the fence about buying one of these last night! Then a buddy of me from the panhandle Z club is wanting to sell his redline and get a V1 instead so were talking numbers now. I am just worried the max will be washed out screen wise by the bright sun in Florida. I dont have tint on my windows either.
