That's messed up...I hate people who soeed up because OMG, this person is cutting me/crossing me/passing me.

Both men and women do that, I still speed up and cut the mofo anyway. Once you cut them they drive like dumba**es again, never made sense to me at all!

Too bad about your car and you're OK I guess or you wouldn't be making this post. I don't see why everyone is blaming the woman. You shouldn't have entered the intersection and made your left turn until it was safe to do so. Obviously it wasn't safe. Three sides to every story and we're only being told one. Wonder what she's saying? Hope it works out for ya.

I might be an extra ásshole and side with you.
My friend got into this same exact accident, he would have been the CRV driver, it was deemed the other person's fault because he had the right of way

aliens coming after her... or something stupid.

sorry to see OP. sounds like you had the right of way. lady shouldnt have sped up. she should've stopped on a yellow when approaching an intersection with a lefthand turn from opposite direction waiting.

Good to hear you're unhurt.

Left turns across any intersection require yielding to oncoming traffic. This would make this accident in favor of the other driver (unfortunately, as we always root for the Z) - provided she didn't break the law. In Cali, as long as the front bumper clears the intersection threshold (the single line beyond the crosswalk) before the light turns red, the driver is in the area legally. She then has the right of way.

Hopefully it's ruled otherwise...

Is it just me, or do drivers in CRV's (and Ford Escapes) always seem to drive faster than their cars are designed for? Not knocking the driver or the cars, but I just seem to notice that tendency on the road. Not to mention Prius drivers wanting to race up highway onramps...

I bet your suddenly getting neck pain….I would. Do NOT sign any insurance claim form till you have a complete exam and X-rays taken. Many times problems will come a few days after the initial hit. Her insurance company will want to settle quickly and goad you into it. Don't do it.

I feel your pain. I was at a stop sign in a van, car coming from the left was in right lane with turn signal on so I went straight, and BAM, got T-boned. It was an Army van on my LAST DAY at Ft Bragg! But that speeding up part, WTF, I see people do that like they are going to teach a lesson or something, that's called Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Sorry to see that damage, I don't think it'll buff out.

Thanks everyone. I'm just sore all on my right side. The driver and passenger claim the light was green, the officer laughed when he told me this. Unfortunately I told the officer I made the turn on a yellow/red and I got cited. Had I said it was red she would have been cited for running the red light. But that moment before impact is a little hazy.

as far as i can remember from the drivers handbook for california and from what the OP's original post described as him already being in the intersection when the light was yellow, that lady should have been cited also as you are legally allowed to complete your left turn when the light turns red on you and you are still in the intersection and the rest of the oncoming traffic has to wait for you to complete said turn before accelerating through the intersection. the lady accelerating through the intersection coming in the opposite direction of you could be 50/50 either way as to whether it was her fault or not as we dont know if there was any witnesses placing her as accelerating before she hit the line on the ground. reminds me of an accident i witnessed a few years back where some stupid bitch in an toyota tacoma pickup decided to make a left turn and plow into oncoming traffic and when i got a call to come testify against her a few months later she was trying to claim that she had a green arrow light when in fact she only had a solid green and there was a sign clearly stating that "LEFT TURN MUST YIELD ON GREEN"...i dont know about anyone else, but it always seems to be the ones that are driving toyotas that are freaking dumbass pricks on the road
