I'm not saying don't mod the car. Just leave the powertrain alone. Find a set of takeoff sport brakes. Get a diff. Mod the suspension when you can tell what needs to be modded by feel. Go nuts with stereo and interior/exterior. |

I had a G37 at age 17 so I know the feel OP. When I bought it I knew it was more than just a nice car.. Driven dangerously it was a weapon. Maturity is a huge factor when it comes to young dudes having nice cars. Just be safe and have fun! :)

If that's the case then, go low get a nice set of tires and wheels, maybe carbon fiber hood and your done......Stay away from the performance mods !!!!

LOL "fast"
You can have a fast car and have it slow at the same time. Best mod for ANY car is driver mod. After that, you then, can think about car mods. Two 370Z Nismos at BIR ran mid 14's and low 15's. This car is setup to be a mid-low 13's car. ;) |

Do this first
Street Survival School, sponsored by Tirerack, BMW Car Club of America, Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) This school will teach you about the limits of your car and your own limits, with an experienced instructor in the car. Then as others have said, Autocross, aka solo racing. Develop your capabilities as a driver. You may think you are the greatest driver in the world, and you may be, I don't know. But it's often the other morons on the road that will kill you. One day, inexpensive, fun, and you use your own car. It will be the best $75.00 ever spent. Your parents may even pay for it. Learn your car then modify. Welcome to the forum. Hang out, yack, don't get yourself dead eh? :) |
