Farewell, Fairlady.....
I traded in my Z for a 'Vette today. I have to say the Z is an awesome car. It is refined in it's performance, a fun and pleasant car to own and drive, but we just never really connected.
2 years ago, I traded my Mustang GT for the Z and had buyer's remorse until I picked up the keys to my new car. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing bad to say about the Z, or any other foreign car for that matter, it just isn't my cup of tea. It wasn't for a lack of trying. In the 2 years I had my car, I racked up over 32,000 miles...each one enjoyable...and it would easily have been more if I wasn't trying not to drive it into the ground. It was always a fine sight to see when walking through the parking lot and caching the 2/3 profile view of the Z. I would often peek into the garage to catch a view...it really is a pretty car. The Z community, especially the guys and girls on this forum, are a great bunch of people. I wish I could have been as enthusiastic about the car as most of you are. I met a lot of interesting people here and made a few friends. I learned a lot from the people on this forum. I tackled some mods and got more than a few technical answers here. I'll probably continue to lurk around here, because it is an interesting forum, but now I'll be a real outsider....one that drives a 'Vette!!

Sorry to hear about the small peepee. See ya later. Jk. But honestly, I'd never own a vette or a mustang. Mustangs I won't even get into that subject lol. And vettes are overpriced. I had a full vette swap in a Nissan 240sx. Loved it. But to actually own a vette id rather so many cars over it in that price range. Regardless good luck with it, the color is beautiful and I'm sure it'll be fun for a long time.

I have never been a vette fan but after being on the track with them at Sebring and seeing how they get around the track they are growing on me. I hope you love it!

Good luck with the vette, as long as you're happy, that's all that matters.

Congrats on the new ride! I may have to look into a C7 as my next car but it'll be a few years.

Congrats on the purcahse OP. The Vette certainly is a superior car. I understand what you mean about not bonding with your car. I somewhat feel the same about my 370Z, which is a bit annoying because I've always instantly felt the bond with my previous Z cars. In fact, I haven't driven my Z in over 3 weeks. Maybe I'm just geting old.

I would never trade down my '13Z for a 07 C6. My buddy has one (track car only-hes has a few bimmers for DD), modded all to hell, we run at Sebring and he's fast!! Its just so...blah. Even with his mods he's bored and agrees the Z is more fun. Not as fast but more fun. Not a Z nuthugger, he thinks his 135 is more fun too. Its just the C6, getting a bit long in the tooth.
Edit: Sorry, didnt mean to sound like a pretentious twat, enjoy the ride, its still a cool car. Just not my cup of tea. |
