But I have a truck and a Tahoe and my wife has a Mercedes.
Back in the day when I had my EVO 8 I swore that my next sports car wouldn't be my only car to drive. So I only drive it when its nice, plus I have kids and all the activities that goes with that.
When I contemplate getting a new car, I stop and ask myself, "Can I have $30K more fun than my current Z?" That Corvette C7 will continue to tempt me more, because the current answer to my own question is, NO.

Really is a good point. Hard to find a car in this price range that gets you the looks and thrills the Z does! I'm feeling the market out right now, if someone comes by I may just let it go.. won't be easy tho

But for $10k more you can have a HELL of a lot more with a used Z06

I upgraded to a Z06 in May and it is day and night different. The Z was quick but the vette is on another planet. The ZL1s are really badass and they actually handle really well since they have the mag ride suspension, but the downside is the crappy A pilar that cuts out needed visibility when turning and the overall size of the car for me is too large. The weight doesn't matter as much when you have 580hp and huge brakes, but for general (non-performance) maneuvering and parking it plays a big part.

If you're looking for more power and torque, you have to ditch the Z. Even with Twin Turbos, you're not going to make as much RELIABLE power as you can with the V8. And with the V8 there won't be any gauges to monitor or headaches. Just stomp the gas and go.

The Z is a great platform for 300-400hp. More than that is stretching it.
