I'm afraid of mods because a later mod may make this mod outdated
Okay I am looking at Clear Bra, a better CAI and a cat-back. But... what if I drop a few thousand into the car and then I want a turbocharger or something really wicked, only to find that I need to replace the mod that I made? That'd be like throwing money away. Of course i can always sell the parts here, but I don't want to lose money on the mods. I'd rather buy them and stick with them for good.
With that in mind, has anyone made mods and then had to un-make them in order to do other mods? Has anyone learned the hard way, or made mods and know how to not get painted inot a corner like this? |

Yeah, Spohn has a thread dedicated to this.
It's ALLLLLL in the game of modding, I bought rotors for almost $600, I cannot find ONE guy who will take them for $500, mind you, they have... 150-175 miles on them. If you're really worried, buy used

Here's the deal. There may be better modifications available down the road, but who cares? Get what is right and best for you now and worry later if you need to.

Lmfao that's just the game brotha. I have changed every single thing on my turbo kit since I had one installed. Everything. Definetly plan it out. I changed every gauge, the clutch, the exhaust, the suspension, the turbos, the Intercooler etc etc all before really even driving it it was fun doing but could have saved several thousand doing it big the first time. Well....bigger lmao. Oh it all started by the way with a cai, exhaust, and uprev

Start with stickers. Proven hp gains and you can peel them off when better ones come out (or if you're like me you can pay to have them professionally peeled off).
Lots of pro peelers out there. Last edited by H2O_Doc; 11-26-2013 at 09:09 PM. |

I have a build plan for a vehicle before I ever buy it. I know what I want to do and what the end product is going to be. I learned to do this in my younger days after wasting tons of money. People dont understand when they ask me so whats your next mod and I tell them I am done. Like I say, do research, make a plan and be honest with yourself on what the end goal is and then do it. Stick to it as best you can. Most of the time I am done with mods to a car in the first 6 months or so, that way I can spend time enjoying it. At that time I am normally researching my next vehicle and build plan.
Oh and I only upgraded wife's once. Second time I got it right. Last edited by Tazicon; 11-26-2013 at 10:01 PM. |
