Given Nissan's track record for fuel related things: starvation, sending unit, auto shutoff valve, etc., this is one more thing Nissan can screw up lol.

If you ever want to fill the car from gas-gans, like at the track, you don't want a factory capless system. The Ford system is a real pain and requires a stupid special funnel to use with gas-cans.

kenchan 11-25-2013 10:23 AM

does that capless system prevent gas siphoning? teathering the cap is not enough for dumbarses to forget to recap?

kenchan 11-25-2013 10:25 AM

this reminds me of the first time i got in a G... where is the remote filler door opener lever? lol

Here is my problem with the capless gas cap. In states were they test things of this nature like Colorado and they say your gas cap is not working properly, are they going to test these as well? I am sure they will then what is the cost when they are bad? Let me keep a darn gas cap as those are much cheaper to deal with. While I lived in Colorado I had to replace several gas caps on various vehicles. I for one do not like Fords better idea and my other vehicles all have gas caps. It ranks right up there with their crappy turn signals! Big Reason I passed on a Range Rover SUV recently.

I think these just get an auto pass for the fuel cap pressure test

worked with my gas cans without the (included) funnel.

I think it works with anything that is the new CARB design.

Ford started the capless gas cap in 2009. I think it is a great idea. I don't know why one does not exist for the 370Z, heck gas caps have no changed in decades except for this one difference. I want to get one but I have to ask myself why Nissan did not add one to start with. Do they know something I don't know, or did they mis the boat, or am I ahead of the curve? Anyone have one or have opinions?
