Andrew, Andrew was right. It was a joke.

This has got to be one of the strangest complaints I have ever seen for a sports car! Lol I actually did not know ford changed to this system though so at least I learned something today

Agreed, Nissan really dropped the ball on this one. Add that to the fact that they also didn't throw in crappy automatic wipers ala Ford, frequently burnt-out LED headlights ala Audi, an over cluttered iDrive system ala BMW, infrared night vision ala Merc, ringtone-riddled lane departure warning system ala Lincoln, electronic parking brake ala Jag...

Honestly, sometimes if something simple already works really well, why muck about with it? The hook does a really good job of keeping the cap off the paint, and you don't exactly need to be a weightlifter to unscrew the cap.

totally well stated:bowrofl:

Most likely.. Also wanted to add since I was thinking about it that every high performance, luxury car I have driven has had a twist cap for the fuel fill. Including tons of M cars, AMGs, GTR, italia, etc.. If its not broke dont fix it!

Ford has managed to turn a part that normally cost a few bucks to replace to one that costs several hundred dollars to replace.

Nissan did this on purpose... they needed something that Z owners can complain about... and someone did!

I think that Nissan may have omitted the "cap-less" filler because it is friggin' stupid. Just a thought...

meh I wouldn't spend more than a few dollars to add one to my Z but it does have a bit of "cool factor" to it. But then, I liked the pop-up cap on my buddy's old Charger, as un-aerodynamic as that was. To each their own, I guess.

I'm glad someone thought to point out the one thing wrong with this car. :icon17:

and if you care only in making left turns:ugh2:

I kind of like the capless idea.

It'd be just another thing to differentiate the Z from everything else I guess. Uniqueness.
