Vossen Wheels your Views?

Hi all
I am looking at getting a set of Vossen Wheels for my 370Z but cannot really find any reviews of comments about them, has anyone had or dealt With them just wondering the quality etc :)

Thanks :)

With everything I've read and heard about them, I'd stay away.

They're pricey, but also very fragile and crack at low speeds and small bumps.

Granted, it's only one side, but there are similar stories everywhere on all types of car forums.

They look nice, but are frowned upon because people would consider them "fake". Honestly if you find a cheap used set for sale i would pick them up. I live in South Florida where i see Vossens literally everyday and i havent heard of anyone that i know personally crack their rims. But im sure it happens.

they're not really fakes i dont think, just boat anchors. they seem to be low pressure cast and pretty strong.

for dressup car i think they do alright. i would not consider getting them for my Z though as i dont want to reduce performance from those heavy wheels.

but for my G, ive considered the CV2's. but im just going to keep my 3pc SSR's for now and run wider tires.

Thanks for the comments, it was either them or spend another £800 for the others I like looks like the expensive option for me it is lol

They look nice, but are at a very high price point for cast wheels made in China.

Like Haboob said, there is always the other side.

No foolin'. I want function over looks. Cast will not cut it for me.

Just an opinion, but I think they are fugly. Looks like some fake lambo crap.

Waiz 11-15-2013 02:25 PM

I know they are a sponsor of several forums and have a good standing here but I would never run their wheels

Nothing special in my experienced opinion and there are so many cheaper/lighter options that I would rather go with then their wheels.

What turned me off even more was that they had a booth at the LA Auto Show a few years ago where they displayed several of their wheels and most had extra material/waviness on their spokes that I was turned off to the brand as a whole because of it

Lots of guys on the MYG37 have them. I am not a fan but they do look nice. My problem was I couldn't believe people would swap out some of the stock Rays etc for the cheap Vossens. IPLs came with some very nice rims and people would swap them for Vossens...........Things that make you go Hummmmmm

I think they look pretty good (most of the styles) but after reading that truth about vossen blog id stay far away.

Which particular Vossen wheel?

Alstann 11-15-2013 10:34 PM

I've personally been at the Vossen facility down in Miami, and as far as wheels go, I wouldn't go as far as to call them fakes or bad wheels. They have unique designs and they are machined in house. I think they have really nice concave designs and their new forged lineup looks pretty good. (Precision series)

Are they amazingly light, forged wheels? No. Are they JDM-reputable? No. Are they low cost? Depends on who you ask. Me? I have different tastes and I prefer smaller, wider wheels. I also trust longstanding companies that have good reputations, like Rays engineering.

Maybe there have been many cases of cracks and stuff. They also happen to be very popular and in demand, so there may be a confirmation bias there. There are also japanese wheels that fail as well. Anything is possible.
