Honestly, do not want. I'm not saying you need Rays to be credible and have street cred, because I couldn't care less. But I would never Vossens and I'll leave

The ones in the pic about 3 posts above my original. I feel like Sony Crocket should jump out of the car in that pic and spray someone with an Uzi then rip off his white shirt that isn't buttoned. Bunch of showy fake crap.

Anyway, the OP is asking about quality. Looks have nothing to do with it, looks are subjective. Last edited by cooltoy; 11-17-2013 at 03:08 PM. |

Another thing to think about is that some wheel companies actually do microscopic structural analysis of wheels after they are manufactured. It's one thing to flow-form, pressure forge, rotary forge, or cast a wheel, but from an engineering standpoint, Solidworks, Ansys or other FEA programs can only do so much. Real-world testing, and laboratory materials analysis will tell the true story of how a manufacturing process actually performs in real life. As do road tests, but take that with a grain of salt - each car is different, each failure has a story behind it (dumb kids hitting curbs, spinning out, overloading their cars, cambering their car beyond safe limits, on-track failure, etc.), and each wheel can be different.
Good engineering has safety factors so that the wheel will not fail far beyond what the driver will put the car through. Of course, this makes the wheel heavier and costlier.

Not a fan of that kind of 5 spoke, I'm more of a multi spoke kind or at least thicker spokes (like TE37s ) kind of person. Sure it's easy to clean and if you have baller brakes you can show them off, but I just can't dig that kind of look.

...I actually purchased the wheels and have them on my Z. They get looks and compliments and would consider buying another set but for a one piece wheel they are over priced. I paid $3150 for wheels and tires 245 front 285 rear. If I could do it over, between all the concave wheels out there, go with forge (a little more pricier but beautiful).
As for the weight that everyone is speaking of, it depends on what you want to do with your Z. If you want to deck your Z out for shows, great wheels; for running it, not at all. Good luck on your decision |

The quality of them aren't bad at all. They have little to none chips and NO cracks at all. Had them for about 8 months on the car and still running strong. The dealership curbed the hell out of them trying to put my car on a lift but other than that, great set of wheels...

I don't get why people are bashing how they look as well - isn't that all personal? Some people look at TE-37's or RPF-1's and think they are hideous. To each his own.

They are not forged, but lighter than many other alloy wheels.
They are strong, I DD them in the summer, no crack no bent. They are not replica style, so it's original design. I have 2 sets of them for my Z, and I am happy, I got compliments on both sets all the time. For a set of 19" you pay less than 2k, I say its value is pretty good. Recommend. |

My only point is...
20" Vossens = $2200 = heavy, cast wheel 20" Forgestars = $2000 = lighter, rotary forged wheel There are only so many ways you can do 5 spoke, 6 spoke, 7 spoke, etc wheels.. Most companies offer similar enough designs so the question is- if you could have lighter, better quality wheels at a lower price, why wouldn't you? I only use Forgestar as an example because I recently priced out both brands and was pretty surprised.. |

brother had a set on his gtr, from what he told me they are made to order, took over 6 months for him to get them, and then they got bent on a small pothole and he sold them.
