Just as "caneman88" said there is a receptacle for the filter but no filter. Also just as an FYI, part #27277-AR225 Charcoal Filter for the G will not fit in the Z The one in the G is huge compared to the Z as I figured. Sorry but no DIY as I did not have the time, first day of school for the kiddo tomorrow. But, it is identical to the G:

Well we could just wait for the 2010 models to come out and pick it up then lol. Then we can say we all have 09/10 models. Just need those damn heated mirrors.
Ok back on topic. there has to be a model already out with the same size filter as we have. GT-R? Or maybe there is a aftermarket solution. As the service manual states you should be able to see your nissan dealer if your vehicle did not come equipped with one.

so it is confirmed that there is a bracket holder for a cabin filter...just nothing inside?
i'm thinking of picking up an 09 Z...late model before the 10's come in....hopefully get a big discount...and while i'm at it, pick up a cabin filter for 10 and toss it into my 09 |

Wow. I wonder if it's available now as well. Easy installation too.

Lol... this is y I never.buy 1st year.
Between the extensive quirks n usually lack of small but needed features, Its a pain in the butt. Now 1st year buyers have to be in long service lines waiting for cabin filters n getting retrofits for heated mirrors. N now with the led lighting and bluetooth streaming on the nav. I bet u will see people trying to get the updated brighter screens n tech.... lol If ur a feature buff n hate quirks in cars? Buy 2nd or 3rd year. 3rd n 4th year get the most features for your dollar and run the most soind performance wise. But 1st year is y warranties r there. 2 fix quirks! so its not all bad first year. Just more hassle. |

Might not get listed as a part number until the 2010 models come out....

2009 370Z cabin filter
Lots of interesting posts on 2009 370Z cabin filter replacement. I was unaware that the 2009Z had a cabin filter until my dealer quoted me (what I thought was a ridicules amount, to replace the filter).
I immediately went on-line to the Nissan forum and found the tutorial on how to replace & even where a filter could be purchased for decent $ - Amazon for ~$15 bucks). The tutorial was great & I had my glove box out and the filter door open in ~15 minutes. Interestingly, there was no filter in my Z (although there is clearly a door & slot for one???). Anyway - the filter is now in (& the air smells much better)! Thanks Again! |

2009 Cabin Filter
My 2009 Z touring did not come with a cabin filter, even though there is a location & access door in the car to accommodate a filter... Additionally, during a recent service visit to my Nissan dealer, they quoted installing a cabin filter (at a ridicules price). There are tutorials on this site telling you how to replace the filter (located behind the glove box - fairly easy to remove - look for the post).
You can buy the filter on Amazon for about $15 bucks... I've installed & it makes a difference. Hope this helps. GE |

Aw now, be nice to the new guy. He apparently already has the mod bug so could be good. AND he SEARCHED first. I like that and want to encourage it.
From a NW type transplanted to the Mid-Atlantic, to another NW type. Welcome to the Forum. Go post up in the new onwer, new guy section and people will flog you further. How long you had your Z? Some very cool roads out there in the NW. I like the Columbia River Gorge road, both sides of the river. You should also check out the the Old Spiral Highway (aka Old Lewiston Grade) out there in Lewiston Idaho. And if you are looking for another fun drive into Montana, Highway 12 over Lolo pass. True mountain driving. Keep

I will have to look into. I didn't think any year model Z had these filters. Sometimes bringing a thread back from the dead are good for us recent new owners. I will inquire at the dealership on my next oil change.
