Default alue for low pressure forced induction system???

Hey guys open to some opinion here. Let me first say im not selling anything before i get in trouble by some moderator somewhere...

What would you consider paying for an easy install low pressure forced induction system that took maybe 2 hours for the average installer (DIY'er) no lubrication lines or anything just basically an intricate intake system. Say it could pressurize the manifold by a constant 3psi with a 98% flat boost curve across the entire RPM range (perhaps the biggest advantage of the system) and was dyno proven to gain 30 - 50 hp (on a 370z) even down low RPMS.????

Background: I myself (mechanical engineer) have been working with an electrical engineer and an automotive tech instructor developing such a system and we are super close to achieving this. We have everything documented and I'm considering blogging as we finish the first prototype.

I could see paying $750 or so... seeing as some people pay ~$500 for a stillen kit that does next to nothing down low.

Exactly how do you propose doing something like that?

I can see where this will go. All hype, two years of updates, results never come, and dead thread.

well without going into too many details because its still under development. Microcontrollers which cycle through programming upwards of once every micro second can evaluate pressure changes from transducers and react to maintain stability around a given point especially in a mechanical system. The method of pressurization is proprietary info at this point but I can say it reads pressure directly from manifold...And the system requires High amperage from the battery to operate. Theoretically if you wer able to achieve high enough amp draw out of a high enough output alternator and second battery setup you could increase the psi of the system to wherever you wanted 6, 9, 14psi whatever. We are finding for security currently that low psi is certainly achievable from the stock electronic system.

So it's an electrically powered fan?

Maybe not with a controller, but electrically driven fans in the intake are nothing new. I've never heard of one actually making power, but it could in theory. It's the same general theory as the "electric superchargers" but those are just snake oil.

Exactly right!!! theres on theing that a compressor does that a fan cant do. Overcome pressure. Thats why they dont work. Thats fluids 101. but theres nothing that says if you can supply an electric motor with 2 horsepower of electrical power that you cant power a specifically designed compressor wheel to build pressure.....which leads me to another advantage...

If you know anything about the advantage electric motors have over gasoline engines. its that the torque is immediately available for the second power is applied...

If you know anything about about the disadvantage of using a huge turbo on a small engine, simplyt put, is that the small engine has to be turning oober fast just to spool the turbo. that is because the turbo requires the air that it is putting into the engine from the compressor side to spool the turbo at the exhaust side. and small engines use less air than larger engines.

A properly fitted electric motor can spin a larger compressor wheel immediately generating max boost at even 1000 rpm just as easily as it could a smaller compressor.

The theory is sound, its the execution that's never been there. Didnt Audi just pull a patent on something similar?

I remember Audi (or maybe BMW) were working on it, but I don't know any specifics about the system.
