Why did you choose the color?
I can't decide on the color:confused:
option 3= > buy |
Graphite is pure butsecks!

Because Black/Silver/White IMHO (but always right) washes out the lines of the 370Z. Cars like the G35 have a great sillouete and black is one of my favorite colours on that car (oh and red). The 370Z has a lot of lines like bumps and valleys in the hood and roof as well as the tubbed out fenders in the rear that seem to disapear with the Black/Silver/White. Every time I see one of the two black 370Z here in town from behind I instantly think 350Z although the lines of the cars are very different. When I get closer I notice the tail lights and I realize its the 370Z.
Every other car is black/silver/white. As someone once asked me - why would you pay all that money to get a car that looks like everyone else? But more importantly I've always wanted a blue Z. Blue use to be very uncommon on a sports car. I think the red they use on the Z is very nice and while I haven't seen the yellow in person most pictures it looks pretty sharp and its going to be a rare car since this is the only year yellow will be available. Here in Canada is going to be super rare since the rumor is that less than 100 have been sold here for the 2009 model year. |
I like Blue, but would have gone Platinum too if the opportunity at the time was the same..

Honestly I didn't like any of the colors that much. I liked red the best of the choices and that's what I bought, but personally I think Nissan could do better with the choice of colors. I really love the Daytona blue on my 05 350, one of the best colors I've seen on a stock car.

EDIT: I picked Pearl White cause it looks the best. |

The yellow is gone. Which nobody knows how to put out a good Deep yellow-gold pearl coat anymore. And what's replaced is 40th anniversay graphite which is a charcoal type color. And second is black cherry. These are 2 colors not seen on very many cars since the late 90's and I'm hype cuz it would be really nice to break the monotony of the same black, white, silver, grey. Its boring already. The monterrey blue is nice but too light. If it looked in person the way it looks in pictures... I'd be all over it. In person it looks wayyy feminine. I wish Nissan made the Daytona blue and midnight blue of past Z's. Those I feel were some of there hottest colors. The red Z appeals to me and its uncommon cuz of police attraction so its iffy but I'm considering it... Right now I'm considering 2010 black cherry 40th graphite Solid Red And if I went basic color, ill go black. |

White is, has, and always will be the best looking color on any car except a Ferrari. On top of that, no other color looks as good when modded. The way carbon fiber, red racing-seats, titanium exhaust, red calipers, black/gunmetal/ploshed wheels, etc. look contrasting against white is above all else.
The above is a fact, and not just my opinion. :) |
I've always wanted a black on black car, though I am regretting my decision a bit now that I've seen the Blue ones in real life.

The other time is every now an again when detailing i have to put extra work to remove water spots that i never would have noticed. But the pay off is when i shine like a star. I love how my car some times looks like black marble. |
Always get it, we have 4 black cars.
I think it looks good modded http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/8798/tails4w.jpg |
It's a sports car that deserves attention, and my third yellow car.......
|
Solid Red FTW.
|
White is my fav color. my cars have always been white. even my phones.

Although color is such a personal preference, there may be functional reasons for color choice as well. In visual acuity testing, yellow and white are the colors most easily perceived, which is a good thing. When other drivers SEE your car they are perhaps less likely to HIT it.
My area has tons of wooded, winding, narrow little roads over hill and dale. Lots of emerging into sunshine and back into shade. I found that when I had black cars in the past (a Miata and a Maxima), people simply didn't see the cars. Not as bad as a bike! But still, I got cut off a lot more and had a number of near misses b/c folks simply didn't see the car. It got so bad that on the Miata I painted broad yellow racing stripes to make it more visible. Now that my cars are Imola yellow (Audi S4) and pearl white (370Z), this seems to happen far less often. |

They are pretty defined. I guess its the shine on it?? |

+1 for the bolded above. Daytona Blue is the best color I've seen on a stock car and I agree about the new blue, too pale. The 09 Red is really nice in person. The 370z looks great in red IMO, if you don't want to wait another year. |
My fav is red, everything i drive or ride is red.

WOW, this thread is from 09!
However I consider the Monterey Blue to be the 370Z best color! |
Haha!!! Didn't notice it was such an old thread - ZOMBIE!
You know, is there a record for oldest thread resurrected (I'm sure this isn't it)? And BTW, I prefer red on my cars, but wife thinks the 40th Graphite fits my age better (yeah, I is getting older...). |
I buy BLUE cars as much as possible. It's my fav color.
|
was never a fan of red color on any car but Z34s are pure sex in Red that is why i got that color...
|
Although I have graphite, i quite like the red.
White is a colour I associate with government vehicles :D |

I only got the black Z cuz that was the only one on their lot at the time (Feb 09) but I really wanted the Pearl White but settled on the black beauty. I DO wish I had the white, and am currently trying to find a good deal for trade in for that color. Definitly keeping my headlights, sway bars, and exhaust tho ;) if a trade in is possible with my prices.
|
I always buy red and my red 370z has earned countless complements. I think it's a most appropriate color for a "hot" sports car and I'd do it over again.
|
When it comes to this question you gotta stick with your true colors! Lol! I usually stick with unique colors and models that suit me and will seperate myself from the others. Dont jump on a band wagon.
|
I was torn between black and red... and was surprised to find that I liked the Z quite a bit in white and silver too, even though those are my least favorite colors.
But when I saw the red, I knew that was it! The solid red color is, at least to my eyes, one of the most vibrant reds I've ever seen on a car -- perfect! And it's a sports car -- those look best in red to me ;) |
Sunsational04 picked it! :shakes head:
J/K :p .. I love the color! I initially ordered Pearl White but very last second order was changed to Monterey Blue due to "someones" request! :tiphat: |
I like the briliant silver because i feel that it accentuates the curves of the Z. Also the colors of the environment is reflected off the mettalic paint that gives out a rustic silver/(insert color) tinge to it.

I love red and so do the cops, so that left me with PG or BS. I liked the thought of a lighter color with light seats to repel some of the suns rays. White is too hard to keep clean so when dealer wanted to deal, $7500 off list on a silver one, that settled it. The seats and car are much cooler than my cobalt green 300ZX left in the sun.
