Spacers - for wheels, helps push the face of the rim out to better line up with the edge of the fenders Springs - for suspension, lowering springs help fill the gap between the top of the tire and the fenders Plasti-dip - spray paint like product that can be removed easier than regular spray paint, can easily be overdone and tasteless Washers - cheapest exhaust mod ever, this one is listed as a joke Decals - yet another joke (excluding the370z.com forum decals which are awesome and give 50 whp)

But yes. I can attest to the 50 horses gained from the 370z.com decal.

It's likely that someone will come in and defend the "washer mod". Ignore them. Not just on the subject of the "washer mod", ignore anything they ever have to say.

There's a bunch of vendors here selling springs and spacers. Look for recommendations for local shops in your local subforum. There's a long plastidip thread in the exterior subforum.

Or, maybe JARblue can be the surrogate mom and he will look in the phone book or surf the net on your behalf and give you all the info you'll need to make a decision. Oh wait, ask him to make the decision for you. That would be even easier now wouldn't it? Or, you can just search the forum. The info you seek is not difficult to find.

The Z looks damn good by default.
Ideas, though? - tint - clear bra (if you want to protect the appearance of the front) - washing/detailing products - spoiler! (had to add this in as I rechecked that your Z is base) - swap out the rear license plate bulbs for something whiter/bluer - swap out the interior dome lights for something whiter/bluer Honestly, this should exhaust your $1000. - think about platidip on the non-black pieces; check out pics in the albums section; this is cheap and hard to irreversibly screw up. - exhaust upgrade if you consider the sound of your car to be part of its appearance. - lower with swifts springs (unless you plan to drive in the winter, in which case maybe ask if that is a good idea to further reduce your body and wheelwell clearance in winter snow) - spacers only if you want the performance gain or hang out around other car enthusiats. Otherwise, no one else will appreciate this change. Last edited by ElVee; 11-06-2013 at 09:59 AM. |

What I did was plasti dipped the fang area to 1) protect it alittle from rocks and **** 2) contrast between shinny black and a matte black. IMO...IMO i love it! i also put gloss black vinyl over the useless windows on the side. Gives the car a sleeker look. Blackout rear turn signals, and blue bat eyelids for the front. All that was maybe $100. i also re-did my interior with black and orange CF/ kevlar to match the interior gauge lights. Materials cost $149 and i did the work my self, ( pain in the a$$ but i love it). rear fog light $39 plus wires and stuff $20.
If you do little things that are cheap yet tasteful a $1000 can go along way. I also have an CBE and gen III but those together are way over your prospective budget. take a look at some of the other Z's cars and pick and choose what you would like to do and make it your own creation. |
