Had the Z towed :(

So here's what happened: Left work, everything was fine, drove about a mile, came up to an intersection and heard a loud metal on metal sound screeching outside my window.

Default Had the Z towed :(

So here's what happened: Left work, everything was fine, drove about a mile, came up to an intersection and heard a loud metal on metal sound screeching outside my window. I actually thought it was the car next to me so I didn't think much of it. Pulled away and got on the highway, the sound continued and I realized it was my Z. Pulled over right away, and had AAA tow my car to the dealership I think it might be a wheel bearing. The car drove completely fine, brakes seemed fine, steering, all the gears shifted and felt fine. It was tough to tell if it was coming from a specific side of the car. It definitely has to do with one of the wheels in some capacity though since I could hear it get louder at faster speeds, and intermittently got louder with each wheel revolution. Gonna call and head over to the dealership tomorrow to get to the bottom of it. Would a wheel bearing be covered under warranty?

Sub'd sorry brother. Could it be your scraper/feeler on your pads wearing out?

When is the typical 1st break pad replacement anyway?

And sorry to hear about having to tow her, but it does sound like it is going to be covered, unless it is the breaks.

It'll be covered, and I think the stock pads will last 60k easy

Ok so they pulled it into their garage, no noise. Had an oil change done since I needed that anyways. They took it for a test drive, no noise. Then I drove it with them, no noise. They said it was probably a rock stuck between the brake caliper and pad. It kinda makes sense since the car drives completely fine, breaks and everything works fine. Going back in a little bit to pick it up. Is it possible a rock dislodged and is now inbetween that shield that goes around the inner side of the brake pad? They didn't take the wheels off initially but I was thinking maybe I should have them check just to be sure.

Also it didn't make the noise when it was backed off the flatbed last night so maybe just reversing the car freed it? And they said they've seen that before with rocks getting stuck in the breaks on cars with bigger break calipers like the z and Gs too

My front pads were down to 2.0 MM at 26,000 miles. I do mostly hiway driving. This is with the Sports/Touring version. I plan on having them replaced on my next oil change.
