I feel like since their isn't much you can do to the Z power wise I don't have to really worry about mods other than basics. |

^^ It really does seem the Evo X isn't for you. I understand the "not bonding with the car" scenario. I've had plenty of cars that didn't make me want to look back whenever I parked them. It may sound silly, but I ended up selling those cars at a loss, just so I could drive something I somewhat enjoy. Performance is important, but it isn't everything to me. I prefer to drive a car that evokes my passion for driving. Both cars in my sig did just that.

I know exactly what you mean!, take the Z to a curvy road and she will answer your question and put a smile on your face.

For the op...
After I completed the following list, my Z's clutch feels great! I only get clutch chatter when going up hill. Also note, I've never removed the "helper spring" and don't plan to. 1) DOT 4 hydraulic fluid 2) removed clutch line restrictor and replaced w/Dorman brake line union 3) Z speed CSC and SS line 4) Input shaft greeezed with MANLEY Xtreme pressure lube 5) Xedy clutch/PP/single mass flywheel 6) FSM clutch pedal adjustment 7) FSM clutch air bleeding procedure |

Removing the spring can cause cruise control to not set your cruise speed properly. You'll still be able to turn on the CC, but may not be able set the speed. Reason for this is because removing the spring causes the clutch pedal to loosely fall few mm. (Note: Pressing the clutch even just few mm while on CC disengages the cruise, just like applying brake). That being said, that very little drop on your clutch pedal will fool the cruise control, making it seem like the clutch is applied. (To put it in another way, it's like trying to set your cruise control speed while applying the brake, it's not gonna turn on) It may not happen to you. But I had that happen few times. My cc works for the most part. If it doesn't, I just tap up the clutch pedal using my foot and then set it. It's really no big deal at all. But don't be so alarmed if your CC doesn't work without the spring. |
