My EXACT thoughts! Before I commited to my WRX, I test drove the BRZ. It was like getting back into my 4 door 2007 Si again, but without the "vtec" cross over, it's actually a 2 seater, RWD, handles a lot better, and is as torqueless as the Si. :roflpuke2::icon14:

Toyobaru :gtfo2:

I look forward to buying my GF's after a few years when she wants more power. It's fun to drive and gets good gas mileage. It'll be a fantastic little daily driver. I'll happily buy one for $15k.

When you can get a thrashed one for $10k it'll be a fantastic track car.

the problem with brz is that it looks like a damn tomica car. needs wheels and lowering at minimum to make it look like an enthusast car.

someone in the market for a brz/frs probably either has a lot of money to spend, or no money to spend.

Probably more the latter than the former. :rofl2:

And the stock wheels are horrendous.

Consumer Reports survey found the BRZ/FRS worse than average in reliability.

I bought my 370Z to keep being the chic magnet I was when I had hair and a beat up Honda!!! Bald at 65, hoping a Z would make up for it!!!!!

Really don't see the FRS as a midlife crisis type car.. but the graph above does show a good amount of older drivers.. I suspect less than the 370z though

out of this bunch our 370z is the hardest car to keep for a dad with family cause he would need at least
another car to do daily tasks...given he is a responsible dad. :icon17:

at least for me, it's not easy owning a Z and having 3 other cars to take care... while raising 2 kids. not enough time. :rofl2:

I wonder how much these stats are skewed by parents buying these cars for their kids. Especially the Mustang and Camaro. A survey of registrations wouldn't reveal who is actually driving these cars.

That's a really good point.

I see the BRZ as a Miata like car and not just for young folks. The majority of them, that I have seen have been in older hands not all mid life.

RE: demographics:
Does this seem correct?

Our own site poll does not resemble a median age of 51 for the Z.

This implies 55% are baby boomers or older?

I'm not convinced.

It's probably fairly accurate. Forums tend to skew toward the younger people.
