Basic question regarding buttons over speedometer and fuel gauge

I have only had my base 2010 370Z and have not yet looked at the manual so my question might upset some of you. I apologize. No flaming, insulting, please. I know I should look it up but since I was on the forum, the car is out in the parking lot, I asked anyway.

On the left side, over the top where the square weird fuel gauge indicator and temp information, there are two buttons. What are they for? Nothing seems to happen when I press them. The two on the 0ther side, over the speedometer are probably for re-setting trip information though nothing happened when I pressed it while driving.

They scroll through and select options on the screen above the water temp-below fuel gauge.

The ones on the left scroll through the display. The ones on the right adjust the brightness.

Thanks. Don't the one on the right reset trip meter?

Chuck33079 10-23-2013 02:06 PM

No. They adjust the brightness.

Trip meter is the little button between the right and middle gauges.

RTFM.

Driving down the road is neither the time nor the place to be experimenting with the controls.

Download a free manual and save it on your phone. It will answer most of your other questions about the cockpit and instrument cluster.

Aks me a question and you'll get a book full of answers :)

Better yet download the manual and keep it on your desktop so you won't be tempted to look at your phone trying to read tiny text while driving :tiphat:

Pressing it and releasing swaps between trip A and B. Holding it down sets the one being displayed to 0.

if you hold all 4 buttons and start the car, wat happens?

you just look like an idiot.

Ejector seat?

ZeeBabar 10-23-2013 07:00 PM

Funny!

Glad you guys have a sense of humor. Now that I have purchased a used 2010 black MT with 29k, is there anything I need to watch out for? I just did the steering lock recall done.

The car is not going to be raced or driven particularly hard. Are there any oil issues (my RX8 had a lot of that)?

Arrvaxx 10-23-2013 07:20 PM

Don't ask that! Crap too late. Ok, get ready for 40 pages of bitching about what are really minor issues.

:)

Congrats...you got a great car!
