Gas Mileage ( 20% Hwy, 80% City) M6
I been trying to drive a bit conservatively since the last fill up to see if the gas Mileage would get better. My car said 20.1MPG. By my calculations, I got 19.3. Anyone getting similar gas mileage? (Mostly City M6)
I filled up last night a reset the Gas Mileage and Trip OD to try this again. I am bone stock. |
That was about what I saw when the car was stock.
Same ball park for me too on both my old and current 370Z.
If you did nothing but highway it might be a bit higher, but that range sounds normal for mostly city and some highway driving. |
90% City, I average 16MPG. Moderately modded with tune and 7AT. I always felt my MPG was low.
im about 90% city and 10 highway i average 14.5 no matter how many times i reset.
that sounds about right I usually do about 16.5.
Crazy. I traded my 2009 RX8 (which was giving me 13/14 in city, 18 on highway) for a Miata that gave me 22 in City, 30 on highway and now I am back to a stock base 370Z and have yet to fill up tank but you guys are saying it is really low. I thought it was 18-26.
I'm getting ~20mpg 60%city40%hwy on my 2014 w/ 7AT w/ under 1000 miles on the clock.
Mostly city here. 90%. And by city I mean 3 mi to work and 3 mi back on pretty much residential streets. I get about 16-18 mpg.
Who buys this car concerned about MPG's..? Its meant to be fun to drive! I have never hand calculated mine because im not very concerned about it, however I would get about 16-18MPG on the trip computer before the TTs.. now it hangs around 14-15 with mostly city driving. So damn hard to stay out of boost :driving:
I avg 21 and I drive 50 miles highway round trip, to and from work. I use cruise control a lot, because it helps keep my heavy foot off the gas.
90% city 3.8 mi to work and 3.8 back been stuck at 17.8 for a while
100% city. I believe I get around 14.4 MPG according to computer.
with K&N Drop in filters and aftermarket subwoofer + sound deadening (+ weight) |
According to Gas Cubby I've averaged 17.7 mpg over about 3700 miles. On a per tank basis I can fluctuate from high 15's to low 19's. I drive about 85% city as well. I think if I lost some weight my mileage would improve lol.
I usaually run about 12-15 MPG. Maybe 10% freeway. So this means I have two extra gears for the most part. They only get used on a trip to the track.
Over the last three years, I've managed from 17.6 to 25.8 MPG each fillup. Average for 51 fillups = 20.5 MPG.
I was getting anywhere from 22.5-23.8 pre-CBE/HFC. Now I'm getting 20.3-21.6.
I don't really care, but there's part of me that wants to be conscious of the MPG for some reason. I couldn't even tell you the % of my surface streets vs. freeway. I guess it's close to 50/50 anymore. |
Stock sounds about right, on my 2013 I've rarely hit more than 21mpg. Now, with my mods I went down to an avg of 18.5/18.8 (stating from the onboard system).
~18-23 MPG in NYC traffic with I/TP/E & tune...
My driving mix is same as yours, OP, and my car has no mechanical mods, either. I drive pretty gently, use the air sparingly and get barely 20 mpg. I guess that's pretty much "the nature of the beast." Fair price for all that fun!
My gauge says I average 24.9. It hasn't been reset in quite some time.
Something seems wrong
My fuel thing says 22.7 and average of 31 mph. It does not seem to change. How do you reset it?

When I first got my car, I watched gas mileage, only because my old car had an inoperative gas gauge (two states: full or empty). After I got used to having a functional gauge, I quit worrying about it. I bought the car to drive and have fun with, not worry about MPG or cost to fill it up. If you want MPG and low cost to drive, get a Honda….. :stirthepot: otherwise :driving:

Nope I am not kidding. That's because I have a nice 6266 precision turbo sitting next to my transmission.

I get between 14 and 15 MPG at 100% city driving. I just took a 500 mile road trip so my average is now reading 17.2 MPG. I was getting 22-24 MPG out on the highway.
About what I expected. |
Thank god there's highways around here. I average 24-25 mpg. I went 435 miles with 30 miles left on the till empty gauge. I think 500 is doable 100% highway taking it easy.
I noticed whenever the AC is used the mileage drops about 15%.
With window in city driving, 45-50 mph and stop go traffic, I get 18-19. With AC I get around 16.8 ish. That is with my heavy foot flooring whenever I get the chance :) *** and the mpg calculator on board is optimistic by about 10% |
