He says he's owned over 50 cars over the years and loves restorations then enjoying the car afterwards. He says its a real heart ache though to see the first door ding, the first scratch the first rust bubble.... so its bitter sweet for him.
I have a friend who does this. He puts his heart and soul into a perfect restoration, then typically sells the car when done and moves onto the next project....It's the journey, not the destination that turns guys like this on..

You will never live it down if u don't buy it. Those pics are nice.
I think if I had to choose between a 370z or a 280zx that nicely restored.
Id choose the classic.
Just be smart. You have kids. A mortgage. Expenses.

I would say go for it but really scientifically plan your budget for the next year.

Wow awesome car! And sounds like a good deal, I agree you won't see many similar cars for sale anytime soon. The early Zs are becoming rarer and rarer despite their great reliability!

Congratulations.
Fantastic car.
Just yesterday, I've read a full test between the 240z and a 370z in our local car mag.
They absolutely loved the 240 and in the their words:
"For sheer tactile pleasure of driving a car quickly over everyday roads, the 240z really takes some beating, now as it did way back in the early 70's.
The old fella, as they say, still has it."
Happy driving.

Beautiful car!!!!

That wife of yours is a keeper!

I've always wondered what it would cost to buy a 240Z clunker on the cheap and fix it up to this condition.

I've got over $8k in recipts for stuff bought from shops for the car. That's not including the price of the car, the paint job (all profesionally preped by the restorer), any shop materials he already had (primer, fluids, etc), parts bought from various private collectors, etc. Add to that the car was all but rust free from the start. However that all being said I found this car looking for a junker to fix up....

Oh and the wife - yea for sure
