I just got back my Oil Analysis from Blackstone. During this oil change, I also did make a 1000mi midnight trip from SoCal to San Jose, and did 150mph sprints and high rpm downshifts throughout the night.
The comment about the Nissan Ester Oil's viscosity breaking down did surprise me though. Makes me want to switch to something else, but maybe thinner is actually better?? Still... it all looks good so far. Even though the Made in China OEM filter is known to be made cheaply, I am surprised at the report. The oil filter just might be good enough for 5k intervals. Along with the quantative analysis about how the engine is breaking in well, I could already tell this when driving. The engine seems to rev smoother and stronger. But the fact that its still breaking in @9325mi means that this engine takes a relative eternity to fully break in, not the expected 2000mi, but perhaps 15,000-20,000mi. Food for thought.
