It's actually $293 plus shipping, but it's a minor difference compared to the the $429 my dealership tried to charge me.

The Potenzas come on the 19" Rays Engineering sport package wheels.

FYI, guys... they do make a patch now that will handle the sidewall. Not many shops have it (very few even know about it) as it only came out a few years back. I was getting a patch done on my S while in central Florida in late 2006. The guy said he had just attended a training session and the company provided them with a kit to do sidewalls... he said everyone in his team said 'no way' it would work, but they used a nail gun to repeatedly puncture a truck's sidewall, and then patched each one. something about the material the plug was made of combined with its shape allowed it to stay put and keep air in.

Granted, I'm not saying I'd put it in the sidewall of a Z-rated tire and try to drive 130 mph for two hours on the highway, I'm just saying it does exist and it's an option.

I recently had a nail go through one of my front tires. About 2" from the outer sidewall on the right side. I find that if you pop a little extra to get it done right, you won't have problems with it going out of balance. I actually took mine to our BMW dealer here in Milwaukee and asked if they had a Road Force balancer. That's sooo important after you get this done. Make sure it's a great balancer and they put in a patch vs. a plug.

It's completely understood that most can't do a thing about a sidewall puncture, but if you can get something done about it, do it the right way. This way, there will be no flat-spots, and the dreaded shake in the wheel. I'm thinking with such a sensative steering rack, you could feel if you'd have an ant stuck on your wheel. Okay, JK on that one, but you know what I mean. Oh, it cost me $56 to have this done the right way. No shakes, leaks, or anything, and the Bimmer shop actually thought my car was really cool! They were excited to work on it. This all is MHO.

Did no one else pay for the nissan tire insurance thing?? Or is it a South Florida mainly insurance. I paid a little extra on the car and have a nissan tire insurance, meaning if i get a nail or the tire pops for no reason it gets replaced with a new one by nissan.

Works great, seeing as here in south Florida there are gnomes who go out at night and throw nails and screws all over the streets.

Yes I took it out and it worked out fine for me a few weeks back when I had 2 nails in my right rear Potenza - both nails on opposite sides, right at the edge of the tire, was told by the dealer it couldn't be repaired, but got a new one installed and didn't cost me a thing

From what I can tell the Nitto's don't perform as well as the Hankook or Kumhos. I'll be replacing my Sports with 275/35/19 and 305/30/19 on the stock sports mags with the Hankook V12s...

I dont think modified mag would outfit all the competing cars in the tuner shootout with NT05s if they didnt perform well, no car is making less than 400whp btw. And you might want to check fitment with the 305's, different brands fit differently, Nittos run thin, at the most, id run 295's on a 10 in. rim.

A buddy of mine had a GT500 a week, tire came off the wheel on the highway, totaled it, almost died. Had 305's on 10 in. wide rims so be careful man.

ended up getting an internet quote of $300, took it to the dealership. They were surprised because, according to them, that is less then their cost for the tire. The sold it to me for $330 in stead of the quoted $470. I saved a bit of money, but still expensive.
