Clearance of the 370z?

Is clearance a problem with the 370z? I'm concerned about stuff like driveways, speed bumps and sometimes I'll actually have it on non-paved roadways. My family has a cottage in the mountains and the road to it isn't paved, although it is maintained...most of the time. Is there a way to calculate this?

Stock ride height is good for daily driving. If you get the sport package you only really need to worry about the front spoiler which scrapes easily on inclined driveways. I have trouble getting into my parent's driveway so I have to go really slow and angle it if I can.

I wonder how much damage that'll cause in the long term?

mmmm i wouldn't really worry about the sports lip.
it is plastic i think... so how bad can it get?
and plus most people will likely to have a aftermarket lip aniwaise right?

yeah, the plastic front spoiler at the bottom scrapes very easily, but i like to think its there to protect the good shi*... the front bumper. peace out

No damage aside from scraping up the spoiler.

Though if I was any lower I probably wouldn't be able to get into their driveway at all.

I think a new chin spoiler is $125 or something - it'll get scraped up. Replace as needed.

I'd be more worried about any slight hills and uneven road at the same time. If one of the wheels is elevated and you're going uphill, you might require a sport package or an aftermarket differential. I am learning I wouldn't be able to pull into my driveway if I didn't have sport package because the driveway is on an incline and even paved. When I start climbing at an angle, one of the rear wheels lifts and spins. One wheel drive, steep uphill, throw in rain and you better at least have momentum to speed through an incline.

Mine's lowered about and inch and drive it almost daily with no problem. The front plastic/rubber/whateverthehellit'smadeoutoff thingamabobby is a cheap part to replace if need be.

it's low ,thats how sport cars roll.

CBRich 08-12-2009 05:21 PM

It is low but not ridiculously so.

I'm surprised how much clearance I have with stock ride hight. I was use to rolling around in my 280ZX and going over speed bumps/driveways sideways.

My 370Z base model replaced a 2004 Vette. The Vette would scrape just about with any dip in the road, the 370Z by comparison is very forgiving.

Have you tried backing into their driveway?
