apparently he was a shytty driver, or wasnt boosting much. I seen a APS TT'ed Z dust a 500whp EVO IX at desert demonz last friday, its all in how you drive if the numbers are comparable.

Here's a great example of a Z owner:

And as far as mod responsiveness on the cheap, an SRT4 beats both the Z and EVO, while not necessarily reliable, Ive seen 11 sec SRTs for less than 8k.

Was the APS Z built also? Because if it wasn't, I call shenanigans.

Evos can run 11's with simple bolt-ons. I spent $1k and ran a 12.5@110 back when I was a shitty driver with a shitty tune. LMAO@needing $8k for 11's.

The Z is still at the top of the list though. Last edited by Mullet Parade; 08-12-2009 at 03:15 PM. |

show me that 12.9, i call BS. And yes, GM will honor the warranty, however, when the 400Z comes out and you waana trade, prepare for them scoffing and offering you free oil changes for a year in trade. I dont know what was done to the Z, but regardless, you can have all the HP in the world, coupled with a shytty driver, it dont mean squat. And you said 12's for 1k, 11's are a different story altogether.

And as a former DSM owner/racer, I know the limits of the 4G63, and 11's are attainable, however, beyond 500whp, you need a stouter block.

I would imagine what you saw was good driver in the Z vs bad driver in the Evo. the IX MR with the JDM map has been recorded running a 12.6 bone stock with the launch control (keep in mind this is not USDM and Japan has higher octane gas). Obviously this isn't what we are used to seeing here, but the Evo's here run 11s all day long with basic bolt ons. Hell, they run 10s with minimal work, stock block. MT says 13.4 and 4.9, its my bible and they use professional drivers, not magazine editors to do said testing. So the Z is cheaper, faster, sexier, I think I just helped you make an elimination.

And I edited my post to 13 flat in the 1/4 since that's what most spec reports say. I only saw 12.9 on a couple. MotorTrend says 13.0 in the 1/4 and 4.5 0-60. 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP - Transmissions and Specs - First Test - Motor Trend Maybe you were thinking of the G8 GT? |

Rashionale behind poor resale is this, company goes under (GM), spooks potential buyers, demand goes down, cars sell for less, in turn receive less. The Camaro seems to be their only saving grace, but even that wont dig them out of the hole they dug for themselves.

a co-worker of mine tried to trade his Chrysler 300 in on a new Camry, the car was paid off. They offered him 8k, needless to say he still owns the "Phantom" just an ex.
