Cool Has anyone tried THIS?

Being new here, I was reading back a few months into the forums and came across the thread Has anyone tried this?. It was a question I was wondering myself but never tried. Another question I've had that a friend of mine pointed out to me is: can you shut off the car while it's driving? One friend of mine has been tempted several times to just reach over from the passenger seat and press the Start button to see what would happen. I'm guessing nothing - but anyone know for sure?

i have done that but not in the z. what happens is that the car keeps on driving to the direction that the steering wheel is pointed but once you try to move the steering wheel it just locks and then you screwed. i wouldnt try it tho but if that happens to you by accident just turn the car back on and drive off. you have to do it fast tho because you never know what might happen because on uneven roads the z tends to pull to sides by itself and sometimes its hard to control it. now imagine your driving on an uneven road and the car turns off and pulls to the side that would be terrifying. so just turn the car back on and drive off like normal.

Hahahah. Yes, the same friend who has been so tempted to press my Start button has also turned off a car he was driving once when he was younger, and he did not remember that the steering wheel would lock :P

Not only will the steering wheel lock, but you'll also lose your power-assisted brakes. Not a good plan.

You can't turn off the ignition while the car is moving. Well at least my Z won't let me do it. I've tried it with the car in neutral while costing to park and it wouldn't turn off.

Thats good to know. I'd hope that they put in some safety feature to not shutoff if the vehicle is moving above a certain speed. Very dangerous otherwise.

Actually you CAN turn the car off. I did it a couple of times. I put the car in neutral and push the start button. It doesn't happen with the first, second, or even third push. I actually had to push the button I think 4 or 5 times to get the car to shut down the engine. Don't know if it's a glitch or a safety mechanism. I was coasting slowly at 50 km per h or so. I also don't know if you can shut down the engine with the car in gear or at a higher speed. Haven't tried. Also I'm not sure if the wheel locks or not. It was pretty much a straight line road.
