Man I thought I left Turbo cars, Rotary cars, and VTEC cars to avoid oil burning. Well at least I'm used to it by now lol

Actually you'd be surprised how easy it is to install a whole engine. There's not as much fighting things in tiny spaces to get around parts you don't want to remove, because you've pretty much disconnected/removed everything With the right tools (a lift and the right jacks and a hoist) it's a 1-day job even for amateurs on most cars.

20 man-hours or 20 actual hours? Last two times I did it (but on totally different kinds of cars) we had 3 guys and got it done all in one day on a saturday.

This is pretty disturbing. I've bought 3 brand new cars in the past 6 years and I've never had to worry about adding oil. I get the oil changed when its due and that's it. This isnt 1970. Cars shouldn't be burning a quart of oil every 1k miles. I shouldn't have to check and refill my oil every month, especially when its a car that costs over 35k.

There is a lot of information about this issue if you search the forum a little bit. Seek and you shall find. It really isn't something you should be too worried about, just keep an eye out for low oil levels. All in all it seems to only be an issue during break in time which makes sense.

Dang with all these 370's burning oil like this, imagine in a few years from now, with a few years under it's belt you guys will be changing the oil every month. This is not good. Hopefully they will address this problem asap. At least my 2011 model.
It will take all of 370z owners to start complaining.

I've a question what would of happen to the warranty if you mod your 370 with Stillen G3, Full exhaust system and all the good stuff. Does your warranty void? I'm happy you decided to wait on modding your car because I assume an entire engine replace would been a hassle. I would like to know would if you have modded your car, what would occur if the engine did break down. Last edited by Ajboricua; 09-14-2009 at 03:05 AM. |
