@FusZ, does that mean your going to have to break in the engine all over again, and do the whole 1200 mile break-in process?

Lol, My Civic with 215k miles, doesnt burn any oil, (Try that on for size) except for a rear main seal leak, which i plan on fixing along with a timing belt change.

Not the case. I just never *had* to check the oil between changes, because I knew the engine was built well enough to not leak or burn oil.

I've done my own brakes, wheel bearings (even overtightened one and had it bust up a bearing), plug changes, and I'm about to replace the fuel filler neck on my truck, along with the injectors, fuel filter, and coil packs - tire rotations, etc...

But, like I said, I've never had to check the oil between changes because the engines were tight enough to not burn oil. This car costs 3x what I paid for our civic new off the lot. I expected better...that is my point, and I think the point of others that have issue with this.

Yes. Fun Fun... I believe that my engine was burning oil , but just bad seals.

Talk to the cops, they'll tell you that a cover is far more effective than an alarm system. Research shows that thieves want to get in and out as fast as possible (most thieves don't look at how valuable something is, but how easy it would be to get away with), and a custom car cover can't just be ripped off, as they fit like a glove. Even knowing that it would only take them 15-20 seconds to get it off is a MAJOR turn-off to them.

Also, keep in mind that car alarms were great back when nobody had them, but nowadays they are virtually useless in crowded areas. Sure, if you live out in the middle of nowhere, you'll notice your car alarm going off in the middle of the night. But nobody pays any attention to a car alarm going off in a parking lot because they know that, 99.9% of the time, it got set off by someone with heavy feet walking by. I know that at our building, car alarms are routinely ignored unless they don't shut down after a minute or so (at which point everyone hates whomever the owner is for an hour).

So you say that any engine which goes through a little oil is not built well?

This thread made go and look at my oil level and it is as it was when the oil was last changed (I always change the oil and filter on all my new cars and did so at 985 miles on the 370Z using the Nissan ester oil). I check my oil at every fill up, last thing I do after filling up and cleaning the windshield and rear window, it is not 15 minutes but a good 8-10 minutes.

As a past owner of a 2004 Vette I can say that mine did not burn any oil. Although I never reached triple digit high speeds I loved to accelerate fast out of every stop signal.

I've had a few cars, and I can tell you that I have fully paid for my Z with the money I've saved over the years by teaching myself, reading manuals, and spinning a few wrenches to maintain and mod my vehicles....

if i had a lift i would do everything my self. Right now i am currently looking at the cost of a cheap lift that wont fall down on my head but so far its looking expensive.

I am lost, I read the whole thing and I still dont understand how a new engine, with just over 3000miles will break the whole engine. Did you have any mods out of the extraordinary that may caused the problem. Cause it doesnt make sense to me

You don't need a lift. All you need is a good jack and 4 jack stands for anything you may want to tackle.

From what I can tell there has been three or so on the forum with engines that failed so lets say 10 out of 10,000 with failed engines? That's incredible (as in good)! All of which were under warranty as far as I can tell.

.1% failure rate

I've had my Bend-pak MD6-XP for 7 years now. You canstill buy these new/delivered for in the $1600 range...

I'm saying that an engine shouldn't burn oil, otherwise it's not built well.

It might be well engineered, but, it shouldn't burn oil.
