Default Monterey Blue Question

those of you that have seen the Monterey Blue in person, or perhaps have one. does it have a really bright shine to it? or is it sort of a dull type blue, that really doesnt seem to shine like you would think it would?

reason i ask is because my buddy here at the naval base said he saw a red 370Z the other day on base, and he didnt think it had much of a shine to it at all. i told him it must have been dirty or something, because i'm almost certain if it would have been clean and a sunny day, it would shine big time.

It has the shine of any other gloss paint color, and has a light specular reflection any other small-fleck metallic would have... but personally, I don't like it. It's too light of a blue, similar to the head on this dancin' dude... not quite robin's egg, but nowhere near the deep blue it should be.

Here's a photo taken by Jon @ Altered Atmosphere about a week ago with his digital camera:

And here's a photo with my crappy digital camera:

Both photos taken on the same day. Looks a bit darker blue in his photo and a bit lighter in mine.

Did that just come from a guy that doesn't even own a 370?

I considered the blue and it is glossy but it is not a very deep blue. It's a bit watered down looking which is why I opted against it.

Having seen the blue on both cloudy and sunny days, it is very reflective and shows best in bright sunlight. i.m.o.

The actual color in person is darker than 99% of the pictures I've seen. It's a complex, amazing color.
