370z nismo vs evo
Who do you think will do better 0 to 60 runs and quarter miles and track times after engines are broken in? My friend keeps sayng evos will spank my nismo....i doubt it...just want to get you opinion...

Are you joking me? an evo + 1k = goodbye Z... no joke ... my evo X with the normal stage 1 cobb map w/ a cobb AP would destroy my Z and your nismo... Those things respond so well to boltons its not even funny...
Look at it like this... XTREMEBOOST had a full bolt on evo X (thats no tune / no fuel upgrades / no meth etc) that ran 11.9 You will need to be FI w/ about 15k in your car to be able to run that time... Goodluck If he is stock it will be a drivers race - but he has his AWD launch which is awesome... so here are your options: If the Evo is stock - if you get a good launch your nismo will be ok (still close) if he is modded at all - no hope at all for the Z But if you were to open a 1/2 mile drag strip - your stock Z will destroy the Evo... they suck at putting power down up top.. and the run out of juice quickly - but when they have juice - you just cant eff w/ em... |

Spank? Evidently your friend is misinformed. Similar 0-60 times/Quarter mile times w/ a base Z, depending on how good a driver you are, you "should" take this one. Direct him to the new issue of DSport, the base Z put down better times than both the EVO and STI. Also while your at it, tell him to take his matchbox rally car back and get something that men drive, not a zit faced teenager drivin, turbo'ed family car.:icon17:

Another one of these threads...

Plain and simple, if you bring modding into the game it's not a drivers race, it's not really even a race. The Evo has launch control, AWD, and is more responsive to mods. Multiple 8 and 9 second 1/4 mile Evo's out there. It's easy to make a 10 second stock block Evo these days. If you want a drivers race do a fully built Z with TT vs a lightly modded Evo. |
These threads are worthless. Sorry just my :twocents:
|
But we are not talking about modding Ryan, stock v. stock.
This is why I hate threads like this, well I can add this mod v. you and win, but if you add this mod you will win. That is great, but stock v. stock it is a drivers race, mostly. |

Lol its funny but its also true - There are plenty of Xs in the 12s who have a turbo back + FMIC + tune ... thats what - 1000 + 500 + 500 (labor) + 1000 (MAX) for the tune ... so for 3k you could have a low 12s evo ... but you could hope he fries his clutch if its stock and then you would totally win :)
You buy a Z not to drag race out of the box.. you buy a Z to drive it and be one w/ the road and car - something that a lot of modern AWD cars dont do as well (at least for me)... Stock for stock means nothing as almost NO ONE will buy an evo and leave it stock... and you would be silly to TT your nismo Z... cus you could have just gotten the base one to TT... |

if you noticed, he said ABSOLUTELY nothing about light or heavy mods, stock for stock, its a drivers race. And my stereotypical views are my own, thats why we have these things called "opinions". The EVO/STI styling is nothing close to being refined, ugly as all shyte IMHO, they are designed for race use and thats it. I'll put my next paycheck on the fact that my Z will turn far more heads than an EVO 10/10 times, which is why I bought it. Suuuuure an EVO can be a track beast, but whats funnier is that Steph Papadakis in his junkyard EP3 Civic routinely eats your turbo box for breakfast, lunch and dinner. As I recall, just for shytes, he bought one for 500, turbo'ed it, built his own suspension and posted full second better times at Buttonwillow than 60K plus built EVO's. Lets not get into a pissing match here, I state facts, not BS.

oh did I mention that this was done for a total of 5K? And you as well as I know that mods for that car arent cheap. The 4B11 can only withstand 400-450 whp before they blow, now when we start talking about forged internals... how much we talkin now? BTW 8-9 sec EVO's will cost more to build than most Z owners make in a year.:icon17:

now, ahem, before we turn this into a civil war.. back to the question at hand, it will be a drivers race stock for stock, you think your better? Then go for it!

I would like to turn this into a, 'what car looks better thread'. Evo or a 370Z? umm yeah, I rest my case....
|
Threads like these are just ridiculous.

How much is your paycheck? I look forward to claiming it if you really want to put your theory to the test that your Z will turn more heads 10/10. I like how you pull another car to compare to the Evo instead of your Z. There will always be a faster car, we can go back and forth all day with one car after another if you want to start that. I believe the discussion at hand was Evo vs Z. Quote:
Meet Ryan Gates 500+ hp stock block http://i489.photobucket.com/albums/r...311_Jumper.jpg There are no Z's in modified posting times anywhere in the ballpark of him. So you're downplaying an Evo because it costs more to build. How much does it costs to get a Z up to 500+ whp? |
Agreed, why does everyone have to be so damn opinionated!:rofl2:

And to be honest Ryan, shouldnt you be trying to sell your parts/services rather than campaigning for a car this board does not represent instead of getting into a pissing match with a lowly non premium member like myself ? Just my .02

I'll just drive my brand new stock ZR1 if I want to race anyone...
