Does financing used make insurance lower than financing new? I never really understood I surance. Thought it was based on your record, price of car, and how fast you can kill yourself in it Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk |

All the forums say they get close to 30.
Premium schmemium. That's what I put in now. If you do the math, it's like 2.50 a full up more than regular. That's not gonna break my bank Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk |

A used C6 is not $55k. It's $30k, and when the C7 is readily available the prices will drop even more. Guess what- It'll cost about the same as your BRZ. it doesn't have cylinder deactivation, but it still gets 26mpg on the highway.

Just following along, and I know I'm late and I don't know your financial details...
- don't buy a new car unless you can throw the money at it and not miss it/sweat it. That includes the debt, which as Chuck said, is not good debt. If you can pay ~$600/mo and not feel the pinch, have at it. - If you don't have a girlfriend and would like a girlfriend, a new car won't compete with having your own home. Unless you plan on uprooting elsewhere, it's not a *bad* idea to get into some good debt. But definitely talk around to anyone you know who's had a property or two. Unless you know what you're getting into, you might end up being very disappointed. Or you might end up taking a big loss and avoiding that idea again. Good debt, but it *is* a commitment. Anyway, I know the advice is likely not wanted, but a car only fills a certain part of life's desires/needs. Think about the other parts, too. (I should bookmark such advice for my future self!) |

But insurance doesn't drop down to brz lvls do they? (Now not in 2 years when they go up) 90% of my driving is city now. Why drive 2 cars if your going to the same place at the same time and you can split gas! Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk |

I have a gf but I wouldn't buy a car to try to get one if I didnt. I buy it for...well....The joys of being young. The same reason you all bought a 370. But new car talk is long gone. Now to find a used something! New car after I'm making 100k+! 4 more years let's hope Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk |

No one can talk insurance numbers with you. The worst thing you've got going for you from an insurance standpoint is your age. We don't know your area. We also don't know your record. If insurance cost is such a major issue, getting a cheaper car and paying it off so you can drop down to liability only will help you there.

Yea i know, but how long will it take for them to go up? I figure at least a couple years
Yea I know. Which comes back to that 2005 corolla I don't even want to think about haha. 21 living in so cal with 2 speeding tickets (from 2 years ago a week apart) and clean since then. So yea, my ***** high. I even checked a 2011 carolla for ***** and giggles. It was like 40 cheaper than the brz only. Even liability is a ton. A lot less than full coverage but still over 170 a month if I recall Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk |

In the meantime, would swapping out the rear end in the Mustang be an option? It'll save you a couple mpg.
