Nissan 370Z Forum

Will you be purchasing the 1st year production 370Z?

I'll be waiting until the 2nd year production so most of the "bugs" will be worked out on the 370Z. What about you?

I think this new Z is in a lot better position than the 350Z in 2003. It was a very first car and very first model year. This time, the VQ is tuned perfectly. The chassis is completely updated and everything is in great shape. My only concern is the Synchro Rev Match transmission. Anything that's "World's First" always makes me a little nervous. Other than that, I don't see really a difference buyer 1st year or 2nd - 3rd year.

The synchro rev match is what I'm worried about. I'm just going to wait to play it safe.

or you can just keep it turned off? BTW, does anyone know if the Synchro Rev Match is defaulted every time you start the car? or you manually have to turn it on? I'm just too lazy to read the manual

no, you have to get the "sport" package with the car and 6spd, then it'll come with synchro rev match, cnet says it works very good but not for those who know how to downshift...it only works when you actually turn it on, there is a "sport-mode" or s-mode button on the car next to the shifter...its an option and doesnt come with every Z

source cnet

I can see so many people still revving the gas (natural instinct) by mistake while having the sport mode on. This feature will help during autox a lot where you need to down shift very quickly. Can't wait to try this out

Manual states that it will remember it's last position. So if you turn it on it will default to "on" when you start the car next....if you have it set to off it will default to "off" when you start the car next.

I will be getting a 2009...

No Way! I'm willing to bet with all disappointment and dislike of the head and tail lights, that Nissan will re design them! (Wish in one hand, and **** in the other!)

I would hate to buy a car with some thing I really didn't care for, and the following years model be re designed!

Nissan's normal development cycle introduces a new model and refreshes it three years later. Don't expect a change until 2013.

You are correct on that! That's why I put,"wish in one hand,**** in the other". Fanicially this year , no way possible. I'll(we)have to wait till 2010.

If Nissan does that, the first year 370Z will become a highly sought after car in years to come (like the split window Corvette). So it would be a good idea to have one.

Even though I doubt a second year redesign will happen.

I doubt it's gonna happen at all with the 370Z.

I personally don't think it looks right without the boomerang lights. All the PS jobs I've seen with "normal" lights just look off.

I don't know. Maybe I will. A huge factor is whether or not my wheels will fit on the new 370z.
