Stuck on the freeway

well yet another story of the Z and the infamous fuel starvation...*sigh* I am right now sitting on the side of the freeway on ramp and stuck because of this godforsaken fuel starvation buIIshit. you think "I got 5-6 dots I'm good it shouldn't be an issue here" and then she slowly starts to choke out and fade away. so now I'm here, thinking that I was going to be early, and waiting to get some fuel delivered instead.

Dam, id be pissed if i was on my way to work. Where were you heading if you don't mind me asking?

DEpointfive0 09-08-2013 09:43 PM

If you're going to be taking a right turn, that hard, and you've had this happen before... Why don't you just avoid it by going 10 MPH slower?

I realize it's a REALLY DUMB problem due I a design flaw, but the flaw is there and you know about it, just don't do it. I can't sympathize with it anymore... Sorry brother, but I hope you can get going sooner than later

Good luck with the repairs. Keep us posted on your dealership experience. I love hard right turns and would hate it if it ever happens.

Had it happen to me a couple times already and I was able to get it to turn over after waiting about 5 minutes. Then get out of the car, lock it, unlock it, then open and close the door about 5-6 times or so. I was told it resets the fuel pump when you do that and allows for more fuel to be circulated. Then just hit the start button and it might work.

First time it happened to me I had about 3 dots and it didn't turn over until someone brought me more gas. Second time I had about 5 maybe 6 dots and then it worked. Good luck to whoever else encounters this damn problem :icon14:

Sorry to hear.

Has anyone tried to get a recall petitioned for this issue? Here is a link to the NHTSA https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/

I wanna install a fuel cell, plumb it into the top of the tank. When fuel cut happens, flip a switch.

No Way! I start thinking about this at 8 dots.

Once it Chokes out or whatever you, do you have enough time and speed to pull over to the side ? O,o

Have to agree! You know there's a problem, and then you bitch when it happens!

So who's the idiot?

This is ******* retarded. Why does nissan sell them like that? Was there a recall? Can you get it fixed by the dealer for free for having this problem? Can you sue them for this? It's like buying a new item and paying for it when its got a trick up its sleave and something is defective.

I have nearly been rear ended merging onto the 101. It's definitely a design flaw. Unfortunately you have too many guys who think the problem is the driver and not the car. I can hit fuel starve without breaking the speed limit

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shake on me.

And I'd like to edit a bit, if this is the first time it's happened to CBTech, no prob, I read it as it happened to him several times.
